Balloons are just really trying to be photogenic. I shot this one with a Lensbaby Muse and a Lensbaby Composer. I also used a Canon 16-35mm LII, f/2.8. Not my best work, but it was still pretty fun. I think one of the Lensbaby 35mm or 50mm might have worked out better. The Muse seems to be better at closer subjects. I started using Lensbaby lenses because of the tiltshift affect and how it tends to 'miniturize' things. But you never know what your going to get.
