Today's shoot near Vashisht. 2 seconds, f/7.1, ISO 100, 29mm.
I almost couldn't find my way back to where I crossed the creek from below.
This small waterfall is completely hidden in an extremely rugged gully in dense pine forest. The sun had just gone down which created the best lighting. The monkeys are coming down from the upper elevations and one was expressing quite a bit of disapproval about my presence from the trees up on the hillside.
I had to scramble up on top of a boulder without falling into the pit where the waterfall drained out. If I would've fallen down there and broke something... eh. I used one of those little flexi tripods designed for much smaller cameras and had to put my hand under the lens to stabilize its weight as I sprawled out precariously on the edge of a big boulder. With the exception of some camera shake visible on the right edge of the frame everything seems to have worked out. I love these small hidden places in rugged terrain.
