Did I Catch 'Em All? | Pikachu Outbreak 2019

I'm in need of serious Poké-therapy right now..

Pika Pika~

Who doesn't know Pokemon? Or who doesn't love Pikachu?

Pokemon is so famous in Japan. Back when COVID wasn't in our midst, you'll see a lot of pokemon trainers, catching pokemons left and right, using the gaming app, Pokémon Go. I went with some coworkers too, it was fun.

Kyaaaa! So kawaii

Because it was pretty popular by then, I didn't know what I was thinking during the summer of 2019 that I wanted to come to Yokohama to see the cute and very yellow Pikachu. I was still living in Osaka by that time, and to save on transportation expenses, my friend and I had to endure a whole day of traveling and changing trains from Osaka to Yokohama.

Big Pikachu balloon you would see upon exiting from the train station

The event only happens in August, and the last one was in August 2019. Looking back, OMG I was so blessed by the Pokemon gods. COVID came and this event never occurred again.

The boat car for Pikachus

Pikachu Outbreak was the name of this special event. Summer is the festival season in Japan, and we're treated by the Pikachu parade! They had floats, a show, and their lovely parade!

So lucky the people sitting thereNotice us too!

Enjoying the ride

While the Pikachus were dancing, these 2 men were also dancing in the air, with their water show. It was so fascinating to see.

Dance for me Pikachu

After the show, they continued their parade to a mall. We didn't get any good views of the parade because we didn't know but we spotted where they're exiting! We followed some Pikachus and took photos of them.

Going home?

Bonk bonk so heavy

Waitttt! Don't leave me~

Ne ne, mou iku no? Dame! Chotto matte!
(Hey hey, are you leaving already? No! Please wait!)

Leaving me~Peeking Pikachu!

The bubbly faces of Pikachu filled Minato Mirai in Yokohama. People of all ages came to see them! Aaaahh, it's not just me. There were many of us who needed the Poké-therapy session.

Pikachu sailor!!! Waaaa

Weren't they so cute?!

A little smile please

And a little wave for me! kyaaaaa~

They're big as well! To catch them, we probably needed a bigger Pokeball.

Why so cheerful?!Wanna hug me???Going for the hug??No, don't leave!

In a nearby park, Eevee got its show too. Eevee is loved by many Japanese that there's also a parade of Eevees! They were dancing and playing around in the park.

Eevee in the house yall!

Jump high Eevee

They were so huge, bigger than the lady dancing with them. They're about the same size as Pikachu.

Look at their butt

Dancer Eevee

Honestly, I didn't understand their dance and couldn't make of the music so I just focused on how adorable they were. 😂

Short legged Eevee 😄

Friendly Eevee

I wanted to hug one but there were too many people. But even so, I think I couldn't. They have lots of guards. 😁

But the people in front can touch them! So jealous!

It was time for their last march. There were so many of them! So fluffy!

Last march

Bye eevee

Now that Yokohama is accessible where I live, there's no Pikachu Outbreak anymore. I hadn't heard of any news regarding Pikachu Outbreak 2023. Probably next year? Who knows. Let's pray to the Pokemon gods.

Thanks for reading!
See you around! じゃあ、またね!

Wow! My daughters' fave cartoon character, is Pokemon. We have lots of pillow collections at home as they truly admired Pokemon. For sure if given a chance to witness this incredible parade, my daughters will be one of the avid fans who are present and will surely be amazed by them.

There were a lot of kids in this event as well, together with their families!
Pokemon is well loved by all ages. Actually I don't know all other pokemons but at least Pikachu and Eevee I know 😄 I bet your daughter memorized them all?

Yes, they know them all. They are all cartoon movies addict 😍.

That's so amazing! They're avid fans I see! 😅
They would surely enjoy this event!

I hope the Philippines can do the same thing too 😍.

Hopefully! For sure that would be a blast!

So many!! Those are cute.People near me played Pokemon Go a lot but I never tried it😂. In our area some road accidents happened because of the game and it kept me away from it.

They were so adorable!! I didn't play too, but one time a coworker let me borrow his phone so I could play the game.
Caution on the player is needed when playing the game. Here, people are always reminded to be mindful of the surroundings to avoid any accidents.

Pikachu buses and water buses are awesome! I didn't know such a place existed... There were so many people playing Pokémon Go. My brother and his wife were playing too. I would definitely do it if it were to be a blockchain game🤣

The picture with lots of Eevees made me laugh a little.

It's time for a Pokemon Go blockchain game! 😂 I will really play that game too hahaha

I was so overwhelmed by lots of Eevees too! It was a hot day but I didn't mind the heat because of how adorable they were.

Pokemon was one of my favourite cartoon which I used to see everyday. And Pikachu is my favourite.
After watching those picture, I am feeling like it would be better if I were there. I have you enjoyed there very much.

Any Pokemon fans, especially Pikachu fans, would be so happy seeing them in this event.

Huhu ang cute ni Pikachu. and I miss Yokohama :D

Cutie, right?! Grabe makahappy ang vibes!

Talaga? Hahaha Pikachu invasion na siguro to hahaha
