There are many dogs in Thailand, and they sometimes bother people. At some wats, dogs can sometimes be aggressive, for example, so you even don't want to go in anymore. But there are places with larger risks of the dog assault. From my experience, Ayutthaya is the worst in Thailand. They have many stray dogs in those large historic parks. But no place in Southeast Asia (from the list I visited) can compete to Laotian Savannakhet - even other Lao cities. In Savannakhet, dogs (not stray) threaten people right in the heart of the city. I visited the city several times, this happens there from time to time.
sheesh, that's terrible! Thankfully the suburb where I live in Chiang Mai doesn't really have this issue and I hope it stays that way!
