I was talking with @ethanm19 and @jreilly99 offline today about some possible trade scenarios for Ben Simmons of the 76ers.
I was of the belief that this would be a beneficial trade for the Sixers, but was told I was wrong by those two:
Sixers Receive:
- De'aaron Fox
- Tyresse Halliburton
- Pick/cash considerations
Kings Receive:
- Ben Simmons
- Tyreese Maxey
- Mattisse Thybulle
I would be really sad to see Thybulle go, but I think this makes the Sixers a much better team. The arguments arised when I said that Halliburton is a much more skilled player than Maxey because if you gave Maxey the same amount of minutes he would be projected to perform at around the same level. However, I watched quite a few Kings games over the last year because I find them to be a very fun team to watch and believe that Halliburton plays with a higher level of confidence and it more trustworthy from deep, something the Sixers need with Embiid on the floor for spacing.
Where would you send Ben Simmons and who would the Sixers get in return? I think that this is one of the best deals we may be able to get other than possibly something for Dame... But that just feels like something that is unlikely to occur.

I still believe that the best option is to send him to Portland for CJ McCollum, Nasser Little and a pick.
It sends him out of the East, and the 76ers get scoring and high offensive IQ guard, plus a high body forward with potential.
I agree with jreilly99 about the warriors scenario. I also don’t think you trade Ben unless you get an all star caliber player like dame. I like that trade scenario with the kings but it’s not good enough for Ben. If you can’t get a great player in return you don’t trade him
Difference is that Dame is an All-Pro caliber player, not just all-star.
I think he will fit well in Warriors rotation
where he can grab rebound while Klay and Step
raining three.
I think he can score if no pressure arises.
who would we receive from the warriors tho? If we're not getting steph or klay i don't think i am even considering trading with the warriors
