I want to tell you some curious facts about a very interesting instrument, I mean the trombone. And, as usual, at the end of the post I will present you some fan art I have created, inspired by our beloved game, Rising Star. Without further ado, let's get started.

Friends The history of the trombone is quite interesting and dates back to antiquity. It all began to take shape in the Middle Ages, when metal wind instruments with embouchures were developed. During the Renaissance, the trombone, then known as the “sackbut”, gained popularity among musicians for its ability to play a wide range of notes. And that was one of the first precursors to what we have today.
Then in the 19th century there was a revolution in the construction of wind instruments, but the trombone kept its original rod design, which allowed it to retain its characteristic tone and designs. This century also saw the beginning of its inclusion in symphony orchestras, thanks to composers such as Berlioz and Wagner, who appreciated it.
The real renaissance of the trombone came in the 20th century, mostly driven by jazz and musicians like Jack Teagarden and Arthur Pryor. This practically so to speak led to an explosion of music written specifically for the trombone, both in classical and jazz. Today, the trombone is already well known.
In the slide trombone, the different notes are achieved by the movement of a movable tube called a rod. By lengthening the distance that the air must travel, sounds are generated that can be controlled by the pressure of the air blown by the player on the rod. Seven different positions can be distinguished along the rod. With each lengthening position, the sound produced becomes deeper than in the previous one. Although rod trombones predominate, there are also variants with valves. Mainly made of brass, some models may incorporate copper and silver plating, while maintaining their cylindrical and open structure wound on itself, characteristic of this wind family.
On the other hand, the trombone is not entirely left-handed, as left-handed trombonists must approach the instrument in the same way as their right-handed counterparts. This is not to say that they can't play it, however, because although it may be difficult at first, with practice it becomes more comfortable. Some left-handed players have found solutions, such as placing the trombone over their right shoulder to move the stick with their left hand. This technique may seem unusual to those unfamiliar with it, but it is an adaptation that some trombonists find useful. One example is jazz trombonist Locksley Wellington “Slide” Hampton, who, despite being right-handed, played left-handed because his first trombone was set up for left-handers.
The word “trombone” comes from 18th century Italian. The word “tromba” means “trumpet” in Italian. The suffix “-one” is used to indicate something big. Therefore, “trombone” literally translates as “big trumpet”. This reflects the trombone's relationship to the trumpet, being a larger, lower register version of this instrument.

Now, changing the subject, I present to you my post #58 about some of the fan art I have made with the help of DALL-E, inspired by our beloved game, Rising Star. In this post, I have again used the card theme along with several elements from the game. For example, I've added the star, some instruments and singers to give more personality to the images. Some of the images also have futuristic and retro touches, and I've added scenery and concerts to give it a special touch.
The images are free to use, so you can use them from this publication without any problem. I reiterate that they have been made by me with the help of DALL-E.
