Good afternoon to all my friends, I hope you are all doing well today and above all enjoying our favorite game Rising Star. In today's case I was a little later than usual to bring you the post but here I am faithful as always bringing you a new story like every Tuesday. In this case I have dedicated it to the card R299 Ingrid. This story is related to the power that art has to change what surrounds us and above all how it can benefit us to follow Ingrid's example in some way. Having said that, I hope you like the story, I invite you to the comments to leave me your opinions or suggestions for the next one. Let's begin.

Friends, every day, again and again, the city where Ingrid lived woke up with its usual gray. You see, the big companies in the city had decided that it would be better if all the houses and buildings were the same color, specifically gray, because according to them that color best expressed the modern world. These companies were in charge of painting every corner of the city the same color. Everything from parks, schools and even clothing was gray. Those who did not dress this way or follow this style were rejected from obtaining good positions in the best companies. Many people even received negative comments from a good part of the population who agreed with following this style for everything.
Added to all this boring color, the entire city was filled with invasive advertising that did not allow one to fully appreciate how beautiful the city really was. So much time had passed since the city and everything was the same that people began to adapt and even forget what it was like to live in a city where everything had an original color. Over time, even the city's laws allowed having to live within that color line; for example, even to obtain a driver's license, the car had to be painted gray, white or black. These laws had been influenced in part by corporations that had contacts in the government.
This is where Ingrid lived. About 15 years ago, she was one of the best painters in the city, and had many famous paintings that won a good number of awards. But because of the new city laws that in a way prohibited any kind of art, she had to stop her career. She thought many times about moving to a place where she could paint in color, but her mother, who was bedridden, needed her care. She tried to convince her mother to move to another city with her, but her mother simply did not want to leave the place where she was born. She only wanted to rest in peace in the same place where she was born.
It is for this reason that Ingrid decided to stay in the city, to take care of her mother. But this decision had a strong blow to her career, if she did not want to break the city rules and have legal problems, she had to follow the rules of colors in her paintings, that is, she was only allowed to paint in gray, or black and white. Since she didn't know any other way to earn a living, she decided to continue painting, obeying these rules. Her success continued despite all this, because her talent was highly appreciated by the people of the city. Since she followed the rules, her paintings, instead of creating controversy, were liked by everyone. But there was someone who didn't like them, and that was her. Especially because she couldn't express what she wanted with colors. Everything was so boring and with so little originality, that she didn't feel like painting.
In fact, after a while she stopped doing it because of the passion she felt for this art; she did it more to support herself financially. She spent many years like this, without saying anything about it and without complaining. But when her mother died everything changed, but not for the worse, you'll see. Once her mother died, she spent the following months in mourning, because her mother was the most important person in her life and her loss was very hard. During those months of mourning, she thought it was better to sell the house and go far away because that monotonous and grey place was no longer for her. But something still tied her to that place: the beautiful memories she had with her mother in the house and in the neighborhood.
Before her mother died, she told her that the only thing she would like to see before she dies would be to see the town full of color again, as it was when she was young. Ingrid told her that one day that wish would come true. Unfortunately, her mother could not live long enough to see this, but Ingrid was not going to let her promise stay in the air. She promised herself that she would do whatever it took to bring color back to the city. She did not know how she was going to do this, but she would do whatever it took. The first thing she did to honor her mother's memory was to create a painting with paints and in color. In that painting she painted her mother in a red dress with a colorful landscape in the background.
When she finished it, she was very satisfied with it because now, after so much time, she had painted what she really felt and not grey paintings. It was a very nice occasion, but a bit dangerous, because if she was discovered she could be fined for using colours. So she had to hide it for the moment. It was difficult, it's true, but it was totally worth it for her. I say this because she had a hard time even getting the paints to paint the painting, because they are not sold in the city, she had to travel to another state to get them.
But as I told you, this was only the beginning of what was to come. In a certain way, she wanted to fulfill what she had told her mother. To make a plan, she first saw who her enemies were in the city. She saw that it was a company in particular that had promoted all of that, and because of its connections with the government, it was able to get laws about color passed so that everything looked the same. So Ingrid knew that this would be her goal to overcome. To do this, she contacted her former colleagues, painters in the city, to make a strategy of artistic rebellion. She practically wanted to make a small artistic revolution to raise awareness and for people to see what they had lost and what those people from the company had taken from them.
The first goal they had in mind was to create a mural during the night in the middle of the town where everyone could see it. After a few days of planning, she and her friends took advantage of the fact that there was a power outage in the city to go and do the mural. They brought a ladder because they were going to do it on the second floor of a building so that it would look good. She and her friends spent the whole night making it. It really turned out beautiful. It had very bright colors.
The next day when people woke up and saw the beautiful thing, they gathered near the mural to look at it. Many immediately realized how much they had lost in the city by following the stupid rules of having everything in grey. Many remembered their beautiful childhood days when everything was colorful, when cars could be tuned or when people could simply dress however they wanted. Some even cried when they saw it. The company that was allied with the government alerted the authorities immediately when they found out about the mural. It wasn't long before government cleaning vehicles arrived to erase the mural.
They took a pressure hose and began to erase the mural, and when people saw this, they were stunned. They were seeing that this was no longer freedom, the city was now a living prison that told them everything they had to do. So everyone stood up in a general strike to demand the end of the grey law, so that colors could return to the city. It wasn't long before the press from other states arrived to document what was happening in the city. Thanks to all this commotion, the Supreme Court ruled in favor of the citizens that the gray color law was unconstitutional, so they ordered it to be immediately repealed and the colors to return to the city.
A few months after this was decreed, local authorities faced pressure for their absurd laws. The parent company of all this was closed down as well. Now houses slowly began to look different colors again and people began to dress in colors again. Ingrid never said that she had been the author of the mural, because she did not want to take credit for it. She only said that it was all thanks to her mother's wish. Now that she had kept her promise she decided that she would finally move, but not to continue painting as before, now she wanted to help many more cities that were in similar situations, a small revolution began and she would fight for art and color to reach everywhere.
Dear friends, this has been my story for today, I hope you liked it, if that has been the case I would love to know your opinions in the comments. If you wish you can recommend a letter for the next one and I will dedicate the next story to you. Until then we will see each other, thank you very much for reading.
