My Foray into Rising Star

Rising Star.png

So, I've been playing this new game called Rising Star, where one has to gradually rise from lowly busker to superstardom. Not my usual cup of char, it has to be said. I'm more of a chess player, so enjoy strategic battles like those offered in games like Civ.

I suppose, like all crypto-hunters, I've learned to notice the diamonds in the rough. Tech with massive potential, but still enough rough edges that it isn't too late to partake. That's exactly what I see here.

Rising Star is completely free to play. One receives a starter card that can be used to earn Starbits that has a monetary value, or the Starbits can be reinvested into the game with the purchase of new cards. If you're like me, with work and other commitments, then I'd suggest investing a few quid and buying some cards. I found using the busker starter card was becoming a little tedious as I didn't have the time necessary to keep those drunk fans. With the missions available to a Busker, it just didn't seem possible to ever gain new permanent fans. But, perhaps I'm just impatient?

A booster pack sets one back 10000 Starbits - which can be picked up on Hive DSwap for a little under (at the time of writing) 2.3 Hive. Select the 'Buy 10 Packs' option and two bonus packs are given as a reward. Each pack of three cards contains a rare or better, and in the twenty-five-or-so packs I've bought so far, I was lucky enough to mint a Legendary Stradivarius.

I now own 74 unique cards and am in a far better position to advance through the levels. I am currently at level 13, so have not yet even achieved the Saturday Support mission. Although, I expect that my first one will be achieved this weekend.

So, my foray has turned into a residence. I'm here to stay and looking forward to everything this concept can and will become.
