Chapter 2: Grandfather's gift

Part 3

Ali decided to go to an antique store to find out the cost of her grandfather's autographed guitar, she went to a store in her locality, from time to time she liked to pass by there out of curiosity, there were stamps, coins from other paisas, old pens, records... The gentleman who owned the store had inherited the place from his parents, it was a family business, he was an eccentric man with a huge beard.

Upon entering the store the girl could not help but sneeze there was a lot of dust in the place, the place was very dirty since the previous employee quit, it was to be imagined that the girl would do that, having to clean such a big place, full of many things must have been a stress. Although she covered her face to avoid breathing in the dust it was inevitable not to breathe it in, it also smelled musty, she definitely wouldn't last long in that place she wouldn't want the mold to get into her lungs. Ali approached the counter where the bearded man was checking some old coins.

-Hello, good afternoon, I would like to know the value of this guitar, it is signed by a Canadian musician Jk Brown Red," said the girl leaving the guitar on the counter.

The man examined the guitar with his instruments observing the details and stopping at the signature to see if it was real.

-The signature of the musician increases the value of the guitar, Jk Brown Red was very famous in the eighties and the guitar remains intact, despite the years. The value of the guitar is in the $2000 range.

Ali tried to suppress her surprise, it was more than she expected, with that money it was enough to pay for her stay while she got a job. The girl took a breath without conveying any emotion because she could not be so soft in front of a merchant could lower the price, she thanked the man, put it in the case and left.

With this guitar I have enough money, wait I can't do that, it's a family treasure, my grandfather gave it to me, of all his grandchildren he decided to give the guitar to me, it would be very cruel to sell it, may he rest in peace I can't do that to him. But I don't have much choice and there is only a week left for the trip.

Ali went to the nearest bakery and sat down on one of the chairs outside, took the guitar out of the case and looked at it. His grandfather loved music, he said it was a family gift, Ali had never been interested in learning to play a musical instrument, however, his grandfather had taught him to play just one song. He took the guitar and began to play it, he did it with ease as if he had a kind of musical memory, maybe it was true what his grandfather said, while he played the beautiful melody some tears escaped from his eyes and spilled on the guitar.

His grandfather's dream was always music, but he was gone, her heart told her that his grandfather would want her to do the same of continuing her own dreams. When she finished the tune, she cleaned the guitar, put it back in the case and headed for the antique store. In life you have to take risks and sometimes make tough decisions. She had to follow her dreams, whatever the cost.

Chapter 2: Grandfather's gift

Part 3
