Hey Everyone! So yesterday I made a post describing how I managed to get 3 cards for free by just completing missions. Thank you to the @risingstargame's team for manually curating my post once again. Long story short, if you manage to complete 140 missions total, you get 4 free cards. Apart from that, I mentioned that I was waiting for my account to be verified so I could start actually getting the benefits from those cards. Once I was verified, I was planning to put some bucks into the game to boost my progress a little. The day finally came!
Account Verified
Rising Start's team is working really hard around the clock to make the game great as possible. Also, apparently, the team is also not only working on business days, because my account was verified on a Saturday!! Thanks so much to whoever accepted me. This has greatly made my weekend that much more enjoyable.
Free cards
From the free cards I got, the best one was definitely the pizza box: lucky or not, I am always able to get some discarded pizza from the missions and now, with my box, I am able to choose when to actually eat the pizza and get that sweet sweet energy back. Before this, most of the time I would get the pizza at the worst possible times when my energy bars were next to full. In the past 24h hours, from what I could gather, I was able to use close to 500% energy! Considering the bar fills up to 100% every 8h, this is 200% extra energy from just one pizza box. Obviously, this is just my first day using it, and I make have just gotten really lucky with the pizza drops. I'll definitely report on future posts.
My new band member
Say hello to Rezz:
Rezz is our newly contracted British punk rock singer. I was searching on the market for cards that could get me 100 to 300 fans for cheap. There were some 300 fans cards going for close to 20 SWAP.HIVE, which I didn't feel was worth the investment for me at this time. Rezz, on the other hand, gives me half of that amount of fans for a much lower price. I could get him for exactly 3.5 SWAP.HIVE. I don't know if this is a good deal or not, but it seemed cheap and will help me improve my earnings for the early game.
From what I could tell, most cards that had skill points greater than fans go for much more expensive prices on the market. That is because after ego comes into play, it is really key to maintain the skill level over your fan count.
That might be Rezz's biggest flaw: the ego will get to him when we grow a larger band. For now, though, doing smaller gigs, Rezz is completely fine as is, and I'm very happy to have him in the Band. Welcome Hezz!
Earnings and Results
I've had Rezz and the other free cards for about 24 hours now and the results have been absolutely crazy. Yesterday, I had a balance of about 1400 starbits. Now, after playing a lot this past day, my balance has sprung up to about 2800 starbits. In other words, I have basically earned in the last 24h, as much as I earned in the first week of the game. This is a crazy improvement for just 3.5 hive spent. I'm really excited about this!
From now, I am working my way through the missions. Right now I am able to do missions all the way to Busking With a License. When I have completed 3 of these, I'll be able to get to the next one without having to worry too much about fan count.
My next big goal though is to be able to finish the first portion of the map, doing the Saturday Headline. I am still figuring out if I will be able to do it with my setup, or if I'll have to buy some other cards to complement my band's fan count.
What to expect
In my next post, I plan to explain how I am managing my energy, telling you guys exactly which missions I will be doing, and, of course, implementing tips and tricks I got from comments and the game's discord.
