is that spikey pot decorative or are those spikes functional for caoturing moisture or have rock wool in them to help roots grow or something?

lol thanks……. It’s a airpot it stops the plants from root binding itself to the pot basically a little spiky bit holes, so the roots could grow out and be trimmed off by the air and it’s just soil in it.
