In this series of posts i hope to once a month resume the lessons that can be taken from the postings and the grow evolution.
Despite the time one grows, most of us know that a couple of years without a grow can make a dent on your performance.
This last grow i made around 360 dry grams plus another 50 or so of an auto that was a week late in comparison with the rest. So all in all i got around 2oz a plant, that is not really brilliant at all. Since then i been taking more time to perfect the small details, i now own the tents to make separate cycles and use clones for a perpetual grow, makes only sense i take the time to iron the kinks and improve on harvest final result.
The first step for this i actually already did, on this next run i will am running NL like before but also Tangerine Sugar, a more sativa like plant with another taste and another profile, also, despite the longer flowering time, a better producer all around, less hairy buds and closer to the colas.
Final weight can be affected by many things, i would argue most of us know that strain can be a big part of it, that and the flowering time can determine how much and how often you get a crop, and finding a compromise can yield one or more crops a year, that in turn is a lot of weight and more bang for your buck. So with this in mind i am hoping to make some more plants and evaluate other strains always with a short flowering time in mind.
Concerning flowering times
Before talking more about this let me make something clear, i think that a lot if not most seedbanks are full of it, and mostly post flowering times that are absolute bs, you many time will buy a seed and use it and in 10 seeds that you bought with 7 weeks (49 days) flowering tag, you realize that most phenotypes will take at least 8 weeks (56) days, and some even 9 or 10. If you think about makes sense, if it was you would you really buy that seed if it have slapped in the tags that it takes 9 weeks? would you go for one that says 63 days or the one advertising 49? Seedbanks want to sell seeds and people want to maximize flower space/time, hence you end up in a place where you need to use good sense and experiment or read others to make sure. The conclusion of this part if this, despite what you read on the site you will probably need more time than you think to flower those babes!
So this month i have put into flowering a Critical +, a Blue Hot Cheese and a TH The Hog. I am hoping to measure how much they yield and how i like the final result to get some new additions to my tent.
Another flavours and strains i have in line are Critical Orange Punch from Dutch Passion
and Lemon Skunk from GreenHouseSeeds.
Methods and changes going forward.
Vases and transplant
I wont be putting the clones in 3 liters vases and the moving them, it is a waste of time and resources now that i have the 2 tents, from now on i will fit the clones with their new shoes because that will be a continuous development from that point and not reaching that place you see it yellow a bit and you know it is because the roots are now done going around the vase. This is a loss of time and rebuilding that stuff again is just a bad move, better do it to the final 5 gallons pot and be done with it.
Topping vs LST
I also wont be cutting the tops to get more colas, i will be using wire and cords and sticks to tie it down and bend the branches to each place so i can train the plant (LST) in a way it gets more light distribution and i can control the height.
I figure the system of the pant is suffering while healing and that energy can be better directed elsewhere, you dont need to cut the branches to break apical dominance and that stress alone should be enough to produce the lateral branching to get that coverage and promote the control in the height.
So this are 2 goals i hope i can achieve soon on all plants and will be measuring the results going forward hoping it will represent and increase in yields.
Any feedback or comments feel free to share i always respond!
I love the approach you are taking. Just FYI make sure you source the photos that arnt yours in future posts. :)

Done! Sometimes it slips my mind 😄
Right on!
i having problems with my harvest too, because i let it dry so much, If you touch my buds they are destroyed instantly, they look like autumn leaves
that is not good, flavonoids and terpenes will evaporate and that is a no no. One thing you can do is this, if the climate is very dry, put something like a humidifier on the drying dark room. If you can, then take them right before they break, dry, but still bending, and use this things to cure your final product
Best is always to dry slow, but if you think it dries 2 fast use this method, the boveda packages will maintain your weed within the range of curing and will also avoid the terpenes and alcohol's from evaporating, you cant get them back.
Cheers brother!
i saw before, but it is really expensive , i live in Argentina and everything that came from other countries cost the double or triple here.
