RE: Growing Organic Cannabis: Part 4, Macro Nutrient Phosphorus

in WeedCash Network4 years ago

Agreed man, bone meal is a great soil amendment. I just started using soft rock phosphate, and it seems to work great. Though do be forewarned, it needs to be composted into the soil, because the plants can't absorb it in its mineral form, soil microorganisms have to convert it first!

Hey out of curiosity, can you think of any other phosphorus sources that I may have missed?

you got two of the commonly used ones nothing I know is higher that bone meal -fish bone meal, fish meal, shrimp meal, and Sea bird guano on the higher side and crab meal, bat guano, cotton seed meal, insect leavings, neem seed meal are all on the lo side but I'm a firm believer in small (trace amounts) of bone meal and kelp meal because its a delayed release like the bone meal Kelp meal with really low N,P,K 1,0.1,2. Almost forgot oyster shells but given how long they take to break down the phosphorus released is negligible at best. I hope this helps
