The Orange Apricot and Pink Kush cannabis plants are more than halfway done bloom time, the Orange Apricot clone has responded well to training, the Pineapple Express will be trained soon too.
Orange Apricot
This Orange Apricot has had five weeks of bloom time, three more weeks remain until harvest. The little buds have grown together to form colas, with the remaining time they will grow thicker. A sweet orange scent eminates whenever I open the tent.
More than half of the pistils are a bright orange color, but new white pistil pairs continue to fill in, the leaves are various bright shades of green.
The buds and some of the leaves have a solid coating of trichomes, their crispy look is reminding me of the Orange Barb parent strain. This plant only had five weeks of growth before it was put into bloom, I'm looking forward to seeing what it's clone will look like in bloom with a longer veg growth time.
You can see the bent main stem in the picture above-right, the before bloom training gave the branches a chance to catch up in height to the main stalk. You can see how that little bend allowed the multiple branches to rise up together, for multiple bud tops. Three more weeks until harvest.
Pink Kush
This Pink Kush has had four weeks of bloom time, four more weeks until harvest. A hardy plant with tough leaves, many have started to turn purple with the cooler fall basement temps.
A sweet and fruity scent coming from the buds. A lot of muted greens, dark and light purple colors. Many white pistil pairs, some have turned bright orange.
The buds are stacking up heftily, dense looking nugs with a shimmering coating of trichomes.
Below on the left you can see the lower branch bud that was pollinated with Apricot Kush pollen. Most of it's pistil pairs quickly shriveled and changed color, the pistil pods swelling with crossbred seeds.

A handful of major colas, many medium sized colas, and lots of decent sized single buds, many weeks to grow. I'm looking forward to a solid Pink Kush harvest, four weeks remain.
Orange Apricot clone
This Orange Apricot clone has had five weeks of vegetative growth, the same as it's mother. I'll give this plant a couple more weeks in veg mode, for a larger bloom.
This plant has bushed out nicely, with extensive training, the upper canopy of branch stalk tops has remained decently level for maximum LED grow lighting effectiveness.
Above you can see how the top of the main stem has been tied town towards the ground, allowing the branches to grow upwards together. Below you can see how much this plant has grown in the past week, you can barely see the container and tie down stick.

A few larger branches have also been tied town to keep to canopy level, and to open up the plant to more light.
Below you can see that a couple extra agressive branches were topped to allow the other branches a chance to catch up. Two new tops grow up where one branch was topped, it's top two branches becoming new stalks.
Two more weeks of veg growth time for this Orange Apricot clone to fill in and fortify roots, before it's put into bloom mode, I'm looking forward to seeing it shoot upwards in bloom.
Pineapple Express
This Pineapple Express plant has had three weeks of vegetative growth, it's upper leaves have grown much larger in this past week, this plant is a seedling no more.
The plant is getting tall too, atleast eight branch nodules already, this plant will receive bent stem training soon to keep the tops level.
I'll let this Pineapple Express plant grow for another three or four weeks before it goes into bloom mode. I've been giving these plants in veg a little more distance from the lights to make sure they don't get overheated, about 15 inches, they're off to a great start.
They say a pollinated flower produces less trichomes due to putting more production in the seed, but there is still a nice look to them. :)

These ones do seem to be still pumping out the trichomes, just the one bud on the lower branch was pollinated, so just that one will be filling with seeds instead of extra THC. If the whole plant was pollinated then I could see the THC production taking a big hit :)
Dope page! Beautiful plants out here
Thanks, it's wild, the variety of cannabis strains and their differences :)
I smoked the punk kush and i Liked that one yours look even better !!
Thanks man, a heavy indica, often I find the home grown much kinder and gentler, easier on the wallet too :)
Lovin the trich production on those buds! Great job man! Keep it up!👊
Thanks, the Pink Kush trichomes seemed to have showed up early, a solid dusting of the flavor crystals :)
all those are wonderfull plants with great buds :D
Thanks, I'm looking forward to the Orange Apricot harvest, it should have a nice daytime sativa lean to it :)
nice
Thanks, it's an extra treat when the buds start to plump :)
top ones are really looking tasty and sweet!
I have yet to sample this crossbred Orange Apricot, but both it's parents were sweet buds for sure, the Pink Apricot parent is one of my favorites, slightly sativa lean with a sweet fruity citrus zing to it. Definitely looking forward to this harvest, I've been smoking indica leaners for the past month, so I've been craving that zing :D
you breed those seeds? i used to but lately i am only using clones and brands, i have no space outdoors that i could put a male away from contamination
Yep, I pollinated a lower branch Orange Barb bud with some Pink Apricot pollen a couple months back, I've crossed some other strains too this year, next year I'll start to stabilize some of the crossed strains, bring them to the next generation. You might be able to isolate a male outside of the tent, they grow relentlessly regardless of lighting :)
tell me about it last time i tried despite my best efforts some polen always reaches the other top side of the house maybe in clothing i dont know man, truth is i had 2 grows in a row with some seeds that should not have been there i no longer try to do it until i have a house in the rural areas so i can work like a pro, this city growing thing is a stepping stone man i only dream of entire mountains covered with my babes :D
Can the kush grow on any kind of soil or does it necessarily have to be loamy soil?
They like soil like for tomatoes or other fruiting vegetables. Loamy or potting soil usually works well for veggies, holes on the bottom of the container for good drainage helps too :)
👍
I also wish to have enough time to spend with my garden.
Time seems to be the most valuable resource:)
