This post is not related with community interests but WeedCash is like family for me and this I needed to share with you
Last night just before midnight I was on gas station refueling.
While I wasn't in my car BMW in front of me started in reverse and crashed my front bumper. Don't know why, maybe he didn't even noticed that he bumped me, but he drive away and officially escaped from accident scene.
I didn't get to excited about that. Gas station employee gave me license plate numbers and everything happened under video surveillance so in my head it was no big deal. Nobody was hurt and there was minor damage so I decided not to call police and wait for them, it was late and, in my opinion, no need for that.
This morning I woke up and went to police station to ask for identity of driver so we can make arrangement about damage.
Police slogan here is "safety and confidence".
At first when I entered in police station and told officer on receipt what happened I was brutally attacked why I didn't reported that last night that now who knows what happened.
Although I told them that it was on gas station under video surveillance they still made me feel guilty and instead hearing what I want, and trying to help me they persistently verbally portrayed me as the culprit for something.
After reception they sent me to office where the officer in charge of the investigation was.
Politely I explained what happened and ask officer for driver identity.
He was very harsh to me that I have no rights to know that information and that my obligation is to report accident formally.
When I tried to explain that there is no need for person that bumped me to pay my damage and also fine for leaving place of accident and that I am sure that if he noticed that he bumped me he would stay and that I would like to contact him before formally report to police I was verbally attacked like state enemy number one.
"Who I am to decide if somebody needs to pay fine or not" is sentence that still rings in my ears.
When I figured that I am not going to get identity only option was to make formally report of accident.
Officer asked me for my driving license, insurance policy and traffic license. He started to import data in computer and suddenly stopped and with huge smile turned to me and said "Ohoohoho your driving license is expired, I will write you a fine in amount 150€ for that".
I had no idea that my license is expired and to clarify, only thing I need to do for extend it is go to another office and pay for stamp that is valid for another ten years.
No medical check or vision and hearing check only money for stamp.
On my commenter that I had no idea that is expired and that I will go to extend it first thing in Monday I learned in a very crude manner that my obligation as citizen is know until when my documents are valid. And that accident happened while my license was expired.
I tried to avoid that fine and asked why is that important when I was not driving in moment of accident and wasn't even in car then he told me that somebody had to drive car to gas station. He didn't even thought about helping ad trying to find best solution for citizens that allegedly he supposed to serve. Only thought was to write as many fines that he can.
For now as citizen I have only obligations without any feel of safety and confidence.
In the end I cancelled my report and went without fine and without identity of BMW driver. But full of bitterness and disappointment towards the police.
Never gonna try for their help again!
If anyone knows how get identity with license plate numbers and insurance policy number that I managed to find online please leave a comment.
Thanks for hearing me out.
With next post we are back on community topics.
See you soon
That sucks! You have a nice car too. I bet the other person was drunk. I am sure you will see that guy again. Only question is, what will you do?
Tnx! She is my beauty and I like her very much ♥️
Alfa is fragile, like a girl needs to be cherished and even light kick makes damage. Maybe he or she was drunk indeed but my impression was that he/she didn't even noticed hit.
I already found insurance number and on Monday will visit insurance company to report damage and take car to mechanics.
Basically only thing missing is name of person who bumped me, but guys from insurance will call him/her and explain that there is no need to call police if he/her admit damage and mention that accident happened under video surveillance.
He/her can only be appreciate to avoid police fine which is pretty high.
I don't think that there will be any problems about that.
Police behavior today bothers me more than accident.
