Hello everyone, how are you guys doing today? truth you are all keeping well. Welcome to Afritunes community week 120. My name is @Danrabs and it gives me great pleasure to be always here, amongst this wonderful family. Yoruba song is a big "thing" for me, so you may be hearing a number of it coming from me.

Well, today, I will be doing a short cover of a Yoruba song, titled " Anjade lo Leni Eledumare" by Chief Ebenezer Obey. He Is a Nigerian juju musician, singer, and bandleader. He is one of the most popular and influential musicians in Nigeria. The song was done in 1982 that was a long time before I was born, hahahaha, but it's meaning and impact is still very much meaningful, significant and even more relevant in our days.

It's of no doubt today, that you never can tell if you will come back home in one peace when you step out of the house in the morning in pursuit of daily bread or for a green pastures.

The song is a very powerful pray which everyone should endeavor to say everyday before stepping out of the house inrespective of your religion. The song is a cry to God for safety as we all go out to hustle and try to make ends meet, the praying song says " as we go out to look for what to eat, may we not meet with what will eat (consume/kill) us.

You know in the old days, before the arrival of Westernization in Africa, the Yoruba people are known to be great hunters amongst other things. So, the song was sang in line with the sense of a man (father) going out to hunt for Games and you know sometimes, when hunters goes out to hunt, they are exposed to so many dangers in the forest, and could be attacked by wide and dangerous animal and sometimes even get lost in the forest. today, we may not be hunting in the forest but believe you me, we are all hunting in our places of work and businesses, and as such, we are exposed to all forms of insecurities, banditry, kidnaping etc, so it becomes imperative for one to count on God for daily safety. It's my prayer that God Almighty will continue to secure us in all and in everything and in everywhere we go Amen.

Anjade lo leni eledumare
We are going out today our maker
Anjade lo loni eledumare
We are going out today, our maker

Jijade wa kama pade agbako
As we go out, may we not meet any bad luck/Evil

jijade wa kama pade agbako
As we go out, may we not meet any bad luck/Evil

Oun ta o je la nwa lo baba
Father, It's what we will eat that we are looking for

Ka ma pade oun ti o je wa
May we not meet with what will eat us

Oun ta o je la nwa lo baba
Father, it's what we will eat that we are looking for

Ka ma pade oun ti o je wa
May we not meet with what will eat us
