One fear I had growing up, especially about relationships and marriage, was espousing someone who would leave me or no longer love me when things started to go odd and less fun. It's a natural fact that nothing lasts forever, especially things that are mortal. The fear is still there, but then I have one prayer, and that's what the song above captures, a promise to stay forever. A promise that changes wouldn't affect the love we share or alter the feelings that were once built with affection. An assurance that no matter what happens, we'll still love anyways.
Johnny Drille is an African musician I respect a lot because of his choice of words in music and his voice which is unique. I had so many songs I had loved through the year 2024 but listening to this track of his became my favourite. Let's say, it speaks meaning more than the rest I listened to and it is a rededication of commitment to love for friendship and relationships. The first line says, "even if you make more money than me, my darling" the response from the supposed spouse says, "I love you anyway". An assurance that money isn't a barrier to what they share.
The first reason is the musician behind the song. Johnny Drille is one of my favourite musicians. His songs may not have classical videos like the others , or announced, but it's one of the musicians that always leave one or two words to hold onto. In this song, he sang about assurance of love when things go sour, the assurance that changes in one's behaviour and physical body wouldn't be a turn off to the other, and how change is acceptable.
Secondly, his voice. Johnny Driille's voice is one quality that sets him apart. He has a great voice and knows how to compose himself through the song calmly with no hush. He is one of the African musicians with a natural voice so great. I've listened to so much of his music and his voice hits differently. His voice coupled with the lyrics of the song are some of the reasons why the song is my favourite for the year. His personality which is focused on promoting morality makes his songs exceptionally.

The meaning of the song and what it holds is related to my desire.
I've mentioned my fear as an adult earlier. I'll love to sing this song over and over to someone I want to assure of forever. A reminder that no matter what changes, no matter the physical changes, no matter her steeze , I'll love her anyways. Unlike the other music that sings gibberish, this music sings truth and a reminder of one's promise to stay faithful to the end. It's the kind of music this generation needs the most where materialism is taking the better part of them and the physical appearance of their muse. It's a music that says, what matters most is love, beyond other factors.
