Agnetha, Björn, Benny, Anni-Frid, are the Swedish couples/ Pop group which hit the scenes in the early 70s and since then, have continuously showcased their ability to craft infectious pop and disco melodies everytime. Their music has severally transported me into starlit nights, where the memories and adventures of youth come alive.
So in an ABBA mood today, let's sit back, relax, and take a look at three of their timeless and ageless classics and why they made it to my favourite list. 💃🎤🎧

Whether it is Disco, drama, or pure pop, —ABBA’s got it all! 🎶✨
"Chiquititta" released in 1979, is a soothing message from a friend to another, one who's probably going through some stuffs and offers her a shoulder to cry on, promising her that bad times are not meant to last forever, but would definitely pass.
"Chiquitita, you and I cry, but the sun is still in the sky and shining above you."
It speaks of keeping hope alive no matter how bad the situation might seem and as her best friend, she wishes her to rely on her.
The aches and scars would be gone so soon and then she would dance once again.
Oh Agnetha's lead vocals shine through this soothing song, with instrumentals just as soft!
"Fernando" is one of ABBA’s most nostalgic and poetic songs, released in 1976, it has an almost haunting feel to it, two old comrades, probably soldiers, reminiscing about their youthful times together.
"I was so afraid Fernando,
The roar of guns and cannons almost made me cry
We were young and full of life
And none of us prepared to die"
It evokes a sense of longing for their past bravery, their friendship, yet accepting that despite their lost battles, they had no regrets, and would go through it all over again.
Anni-Frid's lead vocals was so emotionally beautiful!
"Angeleyes" released in 1979, is about love gone awry, it describes the dark side of love, the deception of a charming lover who leaves a long string of broken hearts in his trail.
"Sometimes when I'm lonely, I sit and think about him, and it hurts to remember all the good times when I thought I could never live without him."
It is cautionary in tone, it says beware of his irresistible angeleyes, for there's deception in his innocent looks.
I love this song because it's one of those I can easily dance to...ar ar ar....
