How Music Heals Is A Mystery
We live in a world where getting the attention of our loved ones is rare. The bond between people is growing weaker and weaker daily, everyone is more concerned about finding daily bread, phones and other gadgets are also quietly taking the place of human companions.
Those who have the time to spend with others are scared of relating with people because humans are unreliable nowadays.
This leaves an empty space in our hearts, we may try to act tough but we can't deny the fact that deep inside we are missing out something.
Therefore we look for other things to fill up the gap, and one of those things is music. Right from my teenage days, to date, I have not found any companion that seems to understand me so well, speak to me directly without being biased, challenge me, chastise me and still embrace me at the same time like music. You just feel like someone is there right next to you and speaking sense into your head.
Music has so many potentials, it has powers that can not be fathomed. There are so many situations in our lives that only the powers that come from music can address.
I don't know if you have ever been in a critical situation where you felt that was all for you. No one was there to listen to you or even to encourage you. Literally, everything seems to be against you.
Then suddenly you found your way to a song that carries a message that looks like a comforter purposely made for you and you didn't spend some time on that song, putting it on a replay, and like a miracle, within some seconds you just realized you are okay, and ain't troubled anymore. That's one of the possibilities found in music.
It has the ability to administer healings to our souls, like drugs do in our bodies. Music is so special and unique that it's one of the few medicines that can heal both the soul and the body as well. Every material thing, every man made thing can only affect our bodies, but music touches the body and also goes beyond.
I have benefited so much from the therapeutic dimension of music. Being a loner, there were days, the only thing I had to talk to, challenge me, and encourage me was music.
It's funny how I don't know how it does the magic but anytime it does speak to me, I get energized. I get fired up again to face life head on.
The influence of music is so irresistible that our emotions become helpless before it. For instance you are hurt, once you play a song that speaks of victory, moving on and becoming better frequently, you won't know the magic that will occur and sweep away your predicament.
Unless you continuously keep in touch with what is hurting you, else your healing will be speeden by music.
This rare gem called music, has a way of applying peace to our hearts that later transmits to our outward person. It is a healer of all sorts. All one needs to do is get a good song that speaks hope based on the area of life that he/she is wounded in and stays on it for a certain time, and you would be amazed at how that music will grant you healing. The person who said "Music is life didn't lie at all," I have seen and tasted of that life.
