Music preferences are highly subjective and influenced by various factors, which include personality, lifestyle, and cultural context. People tend to prefer music that aligns with their personality traits, emotional states, and activities.
In the 90's music was not an everyday thing, music was played to enjoy life and it always has a melody that can lift your spirit, music is cherished and no one can just pick up their instrument and begin to sing, music has meaning with clear lyrics.
Originality, sincerity, and undiluted emotion were the symbols that I could draw out from the 90's music. Many musicians created deeply personal songs that reflected their feelings, hardships, and experiences. They sing according to what they are going through, put their emotions into it and this always makes their listeners develop a close bond as a result of their genuineness.
Also, the 90's, were a time when artists were willing to take risks, experiment with new sounds, and bare their souls through their music. This authenticity is something that many music fans still crave and respond to today.
In today's music, we only dance to beat especially hip-hop music, most of this music has no meaning, no definition, and no direction, music is now for everybody in this generation and it is now used to communicate hatred into the lives of others, we have turned music upside down.
I remember those years when my father would listen to his favorite songs, you would see him singing the songs with clear intention, good lyrics with a bit of enjoyment, they always raised his spirit and always dealt with mood, each song has its mood, if my father received his salary you will know because he has a song for it which will always make him happy and also if he is sad you will know through the song he will be singing at that moment, music has it way of communication.
In this era, we only flow with everything we hear, especially the trending songs of the year, even gospel music is not the same again, the more instruments the lower the spiritual context, do not get me wrong, we still have some artists who are much better in the music industry while we have some that are singing in other to make money not to pass the message to the listeners.
I believe most responsible parents do observe their children screen the type of music they listen to because music in this generation can either make you or mar you, it is full of unpleasant statements or lyrics which little children should not be exposed to at a younger age, the more they listen to these songs the more they want to practice how to dance to it and this can lead to overexposure for the children.
If I would sincerely choose between the music of the 90's and this present generation, I would go for the 90's because 90's music has demonstrated a remarkable ability to remain timeless and relevant, even decades after its release. Many 90's songs continue to resonate with new generations of listeners, addressing universal themes and emotions that transcend time. Also, 90's music often featured skilled musicianship, intricate instrumentation, and a focus on live performance. Many artists were trained musicians who poured their hearts and souls into creating memorable melodies and rhythms.

True I must say.
Musis have to do with emotions.
Yea it was so many different vibes going on in the 90's. Its a few current artists I like but all my playlists are 80s and 90s lol
Same here, I'll always go for 90's songs anytime any day.
Indeed, parents should watch what their children listen to because it's wild out there all in the name of music.
