Culture as popularly known is the way and manner of life. Culture is part of humanity right from inception as different set of people believed and chose to live in certain ways based on certain reasons, ideologies, understanding different from another. Culture is beautiful and adds diversity to humanity. Culture has strong influence on what we eat, how we cloth, how we relate with one another as individuals, family and so on. Music been combination of sounds which are pleasant to the hearing exacts some power and influence on human culture and identity.

POWER & INFLUENCE OF MUSIC ON CULTURAL VALUE PROJECTION
Music been a good and recognisable platform for learning and dissemination of values has over the years influenced positively some cultural values passed down from generation to generation. The traditional genre of music which is like the foremost as seen in Africa has helped promotes rich value of many cultures in the continent. For example, some traditional african songs are composition based on african stories, myths, words of wisdom and so on. Even now, through music, these rich values are showcased to the world in a modernised way with the intent still retained.

POWER & INFLUENCE OF MUSIC ON CULTURAL HERITAGE
Music has helped over the years to promote cultural heritage in all nations of the world. In Africa for example, there are many cultural heritages which are held in high esteem and celebrated with music playing a significant part in sustaining them. Some of the cultural heritage includes traditional festives, ceremonies, gatherings/events which has music involved in it either as the traditional form of music or the contemporary ones. For example, during chieftaincy coronations, traditional wedding ceremonies, annual traditional festivals and so on, traditional music is involved using local languages and musical instruments by cultural troupes to facilitate entertainment.

Music in addition also positively projects cultural identity as each human culture through the different tribes/ethnicity has a unique way of representation for easy identity. Various means of identification can come from the mode of dressing, language, food and other things. For example, in Nigeria, the three (3) major ethnicities i.e. the Yorubas, Hausas and the Igbos have unique way of doing their music using the local languages, local musical instruments and wearing the traditional attires representative of such tribe. Also, in Africa, the music from South Africa probably from Zulu or Soweto can be identified from that of the Ghanians. Therefore, music can influence cultural identification.

Therefore, from the above, it is evident that music imparts on the culture and identity of different people, ethnicity and tribes finding expression in several ways whether for entertainment, educative, informative or other reasons. It is of a truth that music is agelong with humanity, it is therefore good to appreciate its undeniable power and influence on our various cultures and identity leveraging on it for our common good.
