2025 started off for me as a vintage, retro, classic kind of style that I will be implementing especially in my musical choices. Taking an inward look at trending styles in the fashion and entertainment industry, people are bringing back the old styles employed in music and making a contemporary style and art out of them. In essence, the genre of music that has been on my playlist this year is classics or music by a renowned musician that created deep lyrical music that captures the essences of a person or an emotion.
Subsequently, the vibe might change overtime but somehow these retro makes your playlist seem peculiar. One of such music is cs happens to be Elliot James "I think they call this love", i love this music because it brings about a blend of rock, pop and blues. When you listen to these kinds of music you allow yourself to wonder and reflect on how deep and sound the lyrics resonate with the audiences. The music is obviously about the love he has for a woman, the artist used words that describes her femininity to praise her and also to distinguish the fact that her bodily expressions makes him love her. This song is simple yet one that conotes deep affection and emotions through the use of words. the musical instrument when not cloudy or rowdy because all we could hear was the sound of the piano and the voice of the artist.
Another music that is gracing my playlist this year is an old song titled the 'lady in Red' by Chris De Burgh. This song was released in 1986 as a romantic ballad but somehow has managed to stay iconic over the years. The song was a tribute to a woman wearing red, admiring her beauty and elegance. A red dress on a lady is significant and symbolic to passion, romance, confidence, power, seduction etc.
In conclusion, my 2025 playlist is more of retro musics or solemn blues that has a message to pass across. As we grow older we tend to place prioties on the kind of things we listen to and how they affect our reasoning.
