Hello @afri-tunes community my greetings to everyone, first of all i wish everyone a prosperous happy new year, its always great whenever we need to start afresh with new hopes, new aspiration, new strategies to reach our new goals so ladies and gentlemen here's my little secret to leveling up on my musical career this new year of 2025.
I have always had a drive towards music, started off by joining the children's choir when i was a kid, then later on the youth choir of our church, since it was a family church mom would always push to go for choir practices every monday, wednesday and friday evening, the children choir really helped me, cause we were taught how to sing sofa notes, this helped me to be able to identify my part and how to sing perfectly maintaining it, secondly we were always arranged according to our parts like suprano, alto, teno, and Bass.
But when i grew older i began to distance myself from the choir, plus gaining admission into uni, by then i completely never had any chance to sing or do music but however i use to when ever i'm listening to music through my earpod or headset i will always vibes along sometimes doing a cover or Karoake of my favourite artist and song.
I never really had that spark of doing a song like having seat down to score a song from start to finish, observing every details, from key, note, beat and timing, but since on joining hive and coming across this music communities it has spur up that music side of me, the incentive here is more than enough to wake the sleeping giant inside of me.
That's why when i saw #leogrowth #januaryinleo #writingprompt for day 7th i have to jump right in, lately i've started participating in some music communities contest like @vibes and just got to know about @Afri-tunes community through this writing constest powered by #Leogrowth.
So about my music goals in 2025, seriously i intend to level up yeah big time, and i intend to do so first through my friend whose also a keyboardist, most of the time he plays for me and we have a keyboard in the house which is not really that good, so i intend to fix it, properly, which will coste some bucks, then i will have a weekly seesion of just doing voice training with him.
Secondly i would check out online courses atleast the ones that are a bit affordable and try out a month training.
Then i would also try out learning the keyboard, this is something i've always wanted to, but time, passion and interest wasn't really there like that, so its part of my new year's resolution to regain my music prowess, to train myself musically.
Then lastly Train my hearing abilities, i have always admire some choir-masters and choir-mistress with thier exlusive hearing abilities like during reharsals if we sing off key or any body goes off, they will notice right away, hearing ability in music is a separate gift which i hope to nurture with time so that i will not only understand myself musically but able to teach others as well.
