EVOLUTION OF AFRO NAIJA

The evolution of afro music exposed afro beat to other genres of music. Its really nice to see that we are no longer using local drums for entertainment.

Looking back at the days of Fela Kuti, Bob Marley and the other great and late African artiste that entered the music studio for the major purpose of passing a message out there to the world, i can not help it but say that the quallity of music has actually reduced greatly over the years.

Back then, before the advent of evolution, music is a medium to pass a message accross between the artiste and the listeners, it was a great way of communicating, protesting against the ill doings of the government and many more, but then, seems like the evolution of music has made the lyric quality diminish, all an artiste currently need is a good beat and a catchy hook in their beat.

i was a fan of Afro naija, the days of psquare, Wande cole, and many more, really broought light and attention to afro naija. its like this; These past artiste promoted afro naija to the world but then, the current artist i see today are actually made famous by afro naija. welp, i guess it is what it is.

After the evolution o afro naija, the use of artificial inteligence made music lose its quallity. Gone are the days where a producer sits down at a place to mix a song. Currently, artificial inteligence willdo everything, even write lyrics the artiste.

To some people, music became better with the currently evolution, but to me,music became worst. To me, music is all about lyrics, a good lyrics is the major foundation of a good music, but then, the current era lacks good lyrics.

skip to 8:01 where the lyrics started

This is a song by Fela kuti from many years ago. Now listen to how meaningful the songs lyrics is. if you go to youtube and check out the play list, you will see some reasonable songs that are there. The song is mind blowing, this type of song will never ever lose its value and worth.

This is just Fela Kuti, Bob Marley is another legend that never dies. Now, lets compare this song with a song that is released in our nation today.

This is another song from Shalipopi. my ears are bleeding already cause of the horible lyircs. When i see what these new artiste are doing with good beats, i cant help it but wish for us to go back to the times of Bob Marley and the like, when afro music made a whole lot of sence.

The major problem of afro music today is the lyrics, aside from that, the evolved beat is actually good. It always want to make you get up and dance to it, even though song is literally meaningless. Its nice though, so long as people are enjoying the songs, there is no need to panic. But for me? welp, i prefer to put Eminem on repeat.

Hive Naija Curation Trail

Someone once told me that with music now, it's also about beat nobody cares about the lyrics they just want to move body... But I care about the lyrics, it is because of the rubbish our Nigeria artist string together as lyrics that's why you will hardly hear me listen to any of their songs. Indeed music has been watered down to lose its value.

There is a very big change from the olden days music and what we have today.

I can see afro beat is taken over music right away and very soon the world will be more focus on afrobeat because of the evolution we find our self and I see it as a good motivation because we can't just remain in one place or doing one thing all over our days

We most have to be more educated

Most people don't consider the lyrics any more but only the beat
