Learning of songs lyrics can be quite hard sometimes because some songs tend to get many lyrics, I have seen songs with more than 3 verses and each of the verses has more than 6 lines of songs, hymns are like that in mose cases.
There are many ways to learn the lyrics of a song, but for a person to be able to assimilate the lyrics of a song completely, once has to take note of some vital things. These things helps in allowing a person be able to get the lyrics of the song as fast as possible.
Firstly, inorder to learn the lyrics of a song well, one has to listen to the song first, and this is very important, because this is the first step. Paying key attention to the song, the texture of the song, the arrangement of the song, the verses and choruses, and even the bridges of the song, some songs have bridges and one has to take note of them. Understanding the times each verse and chorus is sang is also important. Sometimes people just hear a song but they don't listen to it, listening to a song means paying complete attention to the song and noting everything done in the song.
Secondly, after successfully listening to the song and having an idea of how it is, then one can move to the next step which is writing the lyrics of the song, in this step it is more advisable for a person to write down the kyrics of the song in a paper, it is popular known that a perwon hardly forgets what he or she writes. So writing the lyrics of the song will also go a long way in helping someone to learn the lyrics of a particular song.
Thirdly, the next thing to do is to set set a convenient time you wish to learn the song. In this step, one has to be mindful of a better time and location free of distractions, because distractions contributes in mixing up of lyrics while learning a song. A leisure time is more preferable and a location free from noise is also important. With a very quiet and less distractive location, one can grasp the lyrics of a song within a short time.
Furthermore, after meeting up to the steps above, one begins to learn the lyrics of the song from the verses to the choruses, some people prefer learning the chorus first, anyome which works for you is fine. Learning the lyrics of each section of the song by repeating it until one is sure of the words and timing of the song.
Lastly, after learning the lyrics of the song, one needs to keep in mind that repeating the song helps in keeping the song in ones memory for a long time, but if you don't repeat the song in some intervals, then one is likely to forget some parts in the song. While learning the lyrics of a song, one needs to go slowly and not rush things, slow and steady wins the race.
There are different ways of learning a song's lyrics, this is just a peculiar way that works for many people, you can try it out and see how far you can go.
