Greetings to you all my colleagues in hive I believe you are doing well I am very impress with this topic again tag: how evolution affect African style of music I will love to elaborate more because is a concern topic of the week contest.
First and foremost I will love to speak on evolution can be summarise according to my own understanding as a scientific development from ancestor through a process of supporting variation, genetic drift and natural selection that gives a maximum support to life.
African Style: can also be seen as aesthetics and range of culture that has a broad expression that reflect the richness within a continent in africa.
So talking about how this evolution affect African style of music is by reminding some of us now about the ancient the world and how evolution made us to have a different segment of life now.
Let's see it this way in the western music by colonial era by which as soon as the arrival of colonizers in European in 19th century through which it brought significant changes in the African music through the guitar, piano and brass instruments.
By which it added melody and beautify music carrier and standard because as we know that during our ancestors era we don't know all of this instrument that gives extra sweetness to music.
Through the introduction of this, it makes african to add more melodies and give a sweet sound to everyone hearing so permit me to say evolution has affected African style of music positively despite we notice that everything has its own advantages and disadvantages as i go down a bits with some examples you will also see that not only positive impact but there should a negative side too.
Through the evolution we were able to understand about the afrobeat which deals with afrobeat lifestyle, hiplife deals with the blend of hip hop and highlife and bongo Flava which deals with the traditional and tanzania music and international styles.
I think with all I have said am trying to point out the advantages but coming to disadvantages evolution tries to change the cultural habitation and reframe behaviour of ancient people who are still alive to witness the evolution.
The ancestors will not find the extra sounds as there favourite because they are not use to it and it will change the pattern of the traditions and as it is now evolution has really change world pattern.
But never the less the evolution of African Music has a profound impact on the continent through cultural identity, economic development and social dynamics and I will list some keys effect by evolution which include:
Cultural Perseverance: despite to the influence of the external factors still African music still maintain its uniqueness and the cultural identity still remain intact and still preserving the traditional instruments melody and rhymes.
Cultural Exchange: the African music has become a symbol of exchange with incorporating artist in diversity life style with international musicians by collaboration.
Social Commentary: African music has become a powerful tool for social commentation and move further for addressing issues like inequality, social justice and corruption.
Economic Empowerment: through the growth of music by the industry it created new economic opportunities for interpreters l, producers and artists.
In conclusion: the evolution affected the African music through a tastement to the continent of rich cultural heritage and it's ability to adapt changing circumstances. From traditional melodies to modern styles and trying to immunate and change the tradition life style.
African music has play a vital role in shaping traditional identities, economic development and social dynamics. As African music continues to evolve, it is essential to appreciate its history.
