What's the connection between music and memory? When I think about this question it makes me really think so much because this question goes a long way and thinking about it and seeing it as the afri Inleo initiative for this week makes me want to talk about this topic. You know there is a different between having memory and having muscle memory and there is also a difference between music and doing music from the heart. Okay talking about memory and muscle memory, when doing music, you don't just do it just anyhow it is but from your heart and your brain that is where the muscle memory comes in.
Now talking about the connection between music and memory. For you to carry out these two operations, you need to have developed your memory to some extent because your memory needs to be very sharp and smart enough to be able to carry some musical terms for you. When you are listening to a song for the first time, you can listen to it and forget almost immediately you are listening to it. But for it to stick and remain with you, you need your memory and that is what I call the muscle memory because the more you make your memory score songs and learn new music skills, the stronger your memory becomes.
So that means the connection between music and memory now is that for you to do music you need your memory and for your memory to become stronger, you need music also. Both works in handy with one another. I was giving an example the other time, now I will expatiate more on it. Music and memory are very important to every musician and music lovers because for you to do music, you must love it. For instance when you are just starting to learn a new song, your memory will 10 times faster than it works before If I am not wrong and this is because once you play something new and your memory has not heard it before, the melody in the music will determine if your memory will love the sound and be able to adapt fast or not but if it is a song that your memory or your body don't feel pleasant with, your memory will not grab that.
This why you see that when you listen to some type of music for the first time, you will not find anything of good in the song until when your memory has been able to understand and adapted to the melody of the song, then you will see that you are liking the song. This is why when I listen to a song and I see that I am not really in a good mood, I know by then, my memory might be down, and I might not understand what message the song is passing, so I just have to calm down and wait till when I am back to my feet and then when I listen to it again, I find meaning to it from the melody to the lyrics of the song. In conclusion, music and memory works together and without anyone of the two there can't be good music production.

The two works hand to hand. The instance you cite about not seeing meaning out of songs when you listen casually is true. Memory is birthed out of something we give ourselves genuinely to.
Yeah. That's correct. Thanks for stopping by
Indeed, music and memory works together and are inseparable.
Awesome write-up 👏
