Good day to all my Hive friends.
Its a privilege to share and also be impacted by others with this week spectacular topic. I remain zico20.
Regarding the week topic which is " Does listening to secular music have effects on your spiritual life?"
Well in my humble opinion i could say yes it really does have effect to my spiritual life.
When we say something has an effect , it can either be refers to as positive or negative effects.
As a Christian i could say Secular music doesn't edifies and blesses my life.
Its doesn't bring the presence of God in my life and therefore listening to them is difficult for me.
It doesn't connect me to my God in whom i save that is why i don't keep them in my phone neither listen to them ..
The truth of the matter is that your life can not be transformed when you hear what will deformed you.
Your thoughts is directly proportional to what you listened to..
The heart of a person is control and act base on what it's hear.
The heart is like a memory that store information and when ever it need it , it will search and download it any time.
I am not saying the secular music is bad but for me is unpleasant to my hearing and it can't help me grow spiritually. Light and darkness can not live together.
Those that listening to it might love it but i might listening to it and hate it .
We do think differently right ? And your opinion might be different from my own abi? yes that is true but the matter is that what you digest controls the mind.
What you listen to makes you who you are.
If you listened to song that deals with fight my friend you will realize that you will be looking for people trouble creating the atmosphere of fight.
So what we hear has a way of controlling us positively or negatively, yes depending of the type of song you are constantly listening to. So you need to guide your life on what you hear.
For the mind is the engine room that controls the outcome of a person.
If you think i am lying try to listen to songs that speaks of negative things, in a short while you will begins to think so negatively not only that but also act like it.
I say it again Your thoughts is directly proportional to what you listened to .
And remember that the mind is the engine room that controls the outcome of a person.

I don't despise, I don't cast and i don't downgrade people opinion. You know God created us all in his image but we think differently and we do things differently.

Yes is true what you digest control the mind but there is spirit behind this secular music that if you are not careful once you listen to it once and twice you fully like don't say you can hear it and don't like do you know that if the put sugar in your mouth or honey in your mouth you can not throw it away instead you will take it to your stomach because is sweet
So if you are a Christian just pass were they are playing secular music you will find out that you will be stimulated by the beat because some dedicate their songs to the devil before releasing it so the only thing to do is to take off your mind away from secular music

You are right, based on experience, I can say anyone who is truly spiritual won't have pleasure for secular songs because they won't edify him or her nor improve his her fellowship with the maker. It doesn't matter whether is it a harmless Secular Song or not.
