We come across so many different people during our Worklife over the years, and there's always things we can learn from them, be it from the top guns or the most junior staff or those we often over look like the janitor or the doorman.
There's a lot more than the actual work we do at the workplace. People are bound together at the company because they all so happen to work for the same employer at the same time. One can choose to go to work day in day out and do their job and ignore everything else. Or they can choose to be part of a team, and treat others as friends and respect, many will finde it a lot regarding that way
Yeah I've grown up to treat everyone with the respect they deserve at work, housekeeping or any other role which is good! Some have become good workplace friends and that's nice. Having a good workplace where we are all a team and working towards making each day successful for us all is great! That is regardless of who someone may be previously which I like, so we can work together in the moment instead of trying to take advantage of others.
I so much agree with this. I compare a work environment to a little village with all colleagues and managers being members of that village. The goal is to apply social behaviours in such a manner none of the village members feels unwelcome and drives happiness levels to the maximum that can be achieved. We can't be all friends in a workplace, which essentially means we have to even be harder on respecting others than we do with our friends. But yea, it would be wonderful when we can get into relationship status with our co-workers that are close to friendship. Though that may blur the situation as well a bit. Since friendship may lead to complying with other peeps ideas, whilst it is not the best for the company, the village so to speak 😉
