I'm guessing it was actually the milk after all despite me thinking I'd ruled that out. I went to make my coffee this morning and sniffed the milk and thought it smelled a bit funny (subtle enough that I'm not certain), so I put it back for J to double check later and cracked open a new bottle and all is well with the world.

Milk is often the culprit. I had some bad milk the other day myself...Almond milk. I've had other bad milks too...Oat milk for one. Terrible shite.I think you mean out of date milk, but I took the opportunity to lay into almond milk. (When someone demonstrates to me how they milk a nut with no nipples, maybe then I'll believe it's milk.) 😁
Poor J, it seems like he's in for a bad cup of coffee. Lol.
LoL! XD I guess it would technically be juice but just gets "milk" because of the colour and function.
I only asked him to smell it and see if it was okay, apparently he decided it was okay and risked it in a cup of coffee (he has a normal amount of milk in his coffee it's not entirely milk like mine) and haven't heard anything so I guess he thinks it's okay? o_O
Almond juice works better for me than milk, but I'm just being pedantic.
It seems like J has survived the great almost-off milk debacle of 2022 and will live to be the official guinea pig once more.
He will probably finish or tip that milk as I am not touching it now XD
One must know when to walk away.
