RE: 54% of Workers Prefer Working In Office to Working From Home

in DTube2 years ago

Since COVID and the initial everybody work from home phase, our office has gone to a rotation in which you are at home two weeks and in the office one week. Personally, I love it and would hate to have to go back to the office full time. I save time and gas by being able to work from home. The only way i could see people not liking is if they just don't have a reasonable place to set up an office or suitable space for working at home or there are too many distractions at home (like kids for example). I'm sure my anecdotal experience isn't as scientific as whatever poll this is but I haven't run across anyone that hates working at home and would want to go back to the office full time. Though we certainly have that option where I work.

Having said that, I don't think I would want to work home 100% of the time. You start to feel out of touch after a while, Zoom or no Zoom. And now that I read the article, it looks like the poll excluded people (like me) with hybrid schedules and only addressed those who work from home 100% of the time. So I think it is more than a little misleading if you only read the title/headline.
