Wow, that was a super fun experience! Sledding always reminds me of my childhood. When I go sledding, I instantly become a child again. We parked the car in the parking lot in front of the Ljubelj tunnel. We went on a one-hour hike along the snowy path to the top of the Stari Ljubelj pass. It used to be the old border crossing with the neighboring country Austria. There is a cozy wooden hut at the top, where we ordered hot tea, ate homemade cookies, and warmed up by the fire. When we started preparing for the sled descent, more and more people started to gather in front of the hut. When we started to descend with the sled, many people had already arrived at the hut. It was Saturday and this sledding trail is very well-known and well-visited. The descent into the valley was super fun, fast, and ‘jumpy’ over the formed humps. An experience that we will definitely try again 🙂
