wait, decentralised skynet video hosting is how cheap now in dtube?!?

I’d been wanting to put out a video about this for a while but never really found the time. Recently I’ve been seeing a bunch of the OG videoblogging groups re-forming on farcebook (I don’t use that really) and zoom (even less so) and wanted to kinda add something to the narrative of how far along things have come since the early days of videoblogging and the differences between the ‘influencers’ of today and those early pioneers of picking up the camera and playing with technology.

There is a gulf of difference between the two, or maybe it’s just an age/generation thing, either way, it’s different and that’s not a bad thing!

Maybe my maths is off but i'm pretty sure that i've just got 30 days of access to the uploader for literally like $0.06 -- that's nothing! :)

But yeah, I had to put this video together because it’s crazy how far we have come in a short decade or so, when internet hosting of video files was incredibly hard to do and expensive to what we have today which is decentralised and absolutely peanuts — it’s not negative oil prices but heck it’s that low that you can afford now to host your video in the decentralised cloud and have multiple redundant backups to it.

We are literally at the crossroads between centralised platforms and the awakening of people to finally take a look at the decentralised web storage and I could not be more excited for what’s next.

Cheers!
