Hello there, it's been a minute, right? Yes, I've been attempting to create a movie piece for more than two weeks now, and I've been feeling quite stuck.
I was suddenly struck by two sources of inspiration. Firstly, a friend offered (is offering 🤔) me a gig that required me to delve into the realm of philosophy - this was my initial inspiration. As I was researching the topic, I stumbled upon a quote that wasn't necessarily philosophical but caught my attention: "Take a breather." This became my second source of inspiration.
I suppose I owe my friend credit for providing me with a burst of inspiration, though it's unfortunate she's not on Hive. Maybe she'll join in the near future. So, praying for some of another friend's impressive work ethic (who coincidentally happens to be the sister of the friend who-let's just call her ami), here I am taking a breather😤.
To be honest, I'm not sure what to write about, so I'm just going to wing it. Maybe I can try my hand at showing my view of famous quotes from esteemed scholars - let's give that a shot.
I won't be exclusively selecting philosophical scholars, and for the ones I do choose, I'll list them chronologically according to their date of birth.
What better place to begin than with the philosopher whose name is often associated with the bane😫 of middle school math students and eighth-graders?
Pythagoras of Samos(c. 570 – c. 495 BC), Greek philosopher and mathematician was the founder of Pythagoreanism. His teachings served as influence for philosophers like Plato and Aristotle.
When taken alongside other quotes such as "Rest satisfied with doing well, and leave others to talk of you as they will" and "The oldest and shortest words - 'yes' and 'no' - are those which require the most thought,". Pythagoras' famous words "Silence is better than unmeaning words" may give the impression that he was a melancholic or bullied individual, and who's to say he wasn't (perhaps his followers who considered him to be a demigod and created a religion based on his teachings, heavens, he was called 'the divine Pythagoras'😇).
Then there're are quotes like "beans have a soul" that could just mean anything to anybody(I think it's funny). one thing we should all agree on is that he was intelligent, perhaps beyond that even.
"Silence is better than unmeaning words" is one i think i have unknowingly followed for a reasonable part of my life(i'm not claiming to be a sage), i lazy die and talking is work😶.
I find that saying few meaning words gives a sense of sophistication, and people want to listen to the few times you do speak and if them say you proud, nack them "Rest satisfied with doing well, and leave others to talk of you as they will". Now, I'm not coming after you if you're a talker(we love talkers), I'm just saying if you find yourself in situations where the choice is silence or hurtful or unmeaning words-choose silence.

Our next stop is the individual whose Latinized name homophone either represents an extreme departure from his character or an accurate depiction of it.( i mean confuse us😕)
Confucius (c. 551 – c. 479 BCE) was a Chinese philosopher. his teachings 'Confucianism' forms East Asian culture and society and remains influential across China and East Asia.
This is one quote we need to constantly remind ourselves whenever we think we are not where we ought to be (truthfully, rarely any one is), The key to success is to keep moving forward, even if progress seems slow, as it does not matter how slow you go as long as you do not stop.
At any point you feel you are moving too slow- which I can assure you, you aren't- remind yourself of another of baba 'confuse us' quotes "Everything has beauty, but not everyone sees it". so whatever you do, "wherever you go, go with all your heart" and remember "life is really simple, but we insist on making it complicated."

In this way, it can serve as a reminder of the importance of intellectual curiosity and openness to new ideas. Socrates quote highlights the importance of self-awareness and critical thinking in the pursuit of knowledge and personal growth.

I think this is one I can relate to considering I'm always willing to learn(I have been called a listener, you know). the only thing I wouldn't listen to is any talk placing Manchester united above Liverpool or placing lord of the rings lower than no 1 spot in greatest movies of all time
By maintaining an open mind and acknowledging the possibility of unknown knowledge, we become aware of our limitations. This can enable us to recognize the vastness of what is yet to be discovered. By attentively listening to the ramblings of others, one may discover their own personal "Eureka!" moment, much like Archimedes in his bathtub or Newton with his falling apple(and as a plus, we might be listening to someone who needs to be heard).

I just picked the heading of this part, because why not. As someone having butterflies, i just wanted to agree with this, although in a good way. Don't worry, i'm not going to bore you with the addictive hormone that is oxytocin.
Plato (c.428-347 B.C.) was a greek philosopher born in athens, he was a student of socrates and a tutor of aristotle and is hailed as one of the founders of western philosophy.
Since i promised not to bore you😏, let's talk about another one of his quote "The beginning is the most important part of the work"
This sentence is emphasizing the significance of starting strong in order to achieve success in any endeavor. whether it be playing, working or even love(😉), it is important to put your heart and effort in the beginning as it increases chances of success and remember "Better a little which is well done, than a great deal imperfectly."

One thing I love about quotes likes these are that they can help one navigate through the realities of like. They often spur deep thoughts and inspire.
One of Socrates quotes I love is, "One thing only I know, and that is that I know nothing." It reminds me to never tell anyone that they're are wrong. There's always a thing or two to learn.
