Lately, I’ve been posting almost every day on Hive. Writing, refining, pouring my thoughts into words—sometimes from a place of inspiration, other times just sheer discipline. But with each post I publish, I’m met with the same heavy silence. Minimal engagement. Little to no response. It’s like I’m shouting into a void and only hearing my own echo.
And honestly? I don’t know what else to do.
I look around and see people thriving—getting upvotes, comments, encouragement. I even follow the same communities they follow, engage with their content, show up consistently. So what am I doing wrong?
Is it the way I write? Am I not interesting enough? Am I missing some unwritten rule of the Hive algorithm? Or—and I hesitate to even think this—is it that I’ve been shadow banned? It’s a question that’s crossed my mind more times than I’d like to admit.
This isn’t about clout or going viral. It’s about being seen. Heard. Felt. As creators, we long for connection—to know that our words stirred something, made someone pause, maybe even smile. And when that’s missing for a long stretch, it stings. It chips at your confidence slowly.
But maybe, just maybe, there are others like me too. Posting, hoping, wondering if their voice matters here. If that’s you—know that I see you. And maybe together, we can create a louder buzz.
I don’t think there’s shadow banning on hive. You just have to keep going at it. Make friends, join contests and things like that. Also make sure that your comments are meaningful and sincere. Don’t go around “nice post” “looks like good food” types of comments. Those won’t help you for sure.
I’ve been posting on here for years and a lot of times I get 5-6 comments on a post but there are many I get 0, 1 or 2. It’s so difficult to figure out how to get more engagement.
I think as well, sadly, people go to the accounts that have a medium to high hive power so they can get comment likes for rewards.
I have a question
You find it hard to get engagement
But you kept posting and posting
I'm sure it must have been draining
I don't get satisfaction from ONLY posting. I do a lot of mental work with the writing of the post. I also make sure to spend time in a lot of other peoples posts. It eventually does return investment in terms of people stopping by mine to leave a few words.
As well, I support a lot of people with my own voting power. I don't know if I would say that I am buying influence, but I am restrictive as to who I support and when you find good people to support, you try to support them as best you can, at least that's what I do.
Long story short: change things up if you aren't getting any engagement. Perhaps your post titles aren't attractive enough? Are you only writing short, random topics or are you writing moderate, engaging topics? Do you add any pictures to your posts? I took a quick look and I see one picture, but most of them don't. I would add a picture or two to your post and if you get it online, make sure to add the source from where you got it so you don't get flagged for abuse.
There are lots of little bits of the formula for Hive. It requires effort no matter which way you look at it. I hope you are able and willing to put in the effort to increase your success, but it absolutely requires effort, no shortcuts.
At this point i feel you're an angel God sent to guide me through😭❤️
Noting tips down
I will reform somethings
