I will be writing about what is happening in this country that is making people lose it. Wahala dey Naija o. Things no dey plum. Ask anyone on the street "how's life"? Na rant. Complaints here and there. Yesterday, I sat with a guy and this was it. He started.
Pass me beer make I sip and pass because I cant even afford one . I know things are really tough right now. 20k in naira cannot cover daily expenses anymore. There is no electricity, and solar energy is very expensive for most people. A decent breakfast now costs over ₦5k. Rice and beans at Mama Ekondo’s buka goes for ₦1,500, with just one piece of small meat. Even a bottle of beer that used to be ₦150 in local bars is now ₦1k and no credit especially if Mkpoporo is on duty. (You wan buy beer on credit when you never chop, "I cut in" Smiles.)
2.5g data finishes in no time, and money is harder to make but disappears so quickly. Many people can not afford a decent meal, transport fares keep rising, and even basic things like soap, toothpaste, and cooking gas are getting more expensive. Everywhere you turn, someone is struggling or begging to survive.
It is easy to feel hopeless, especially when those in power seem out of touch with what is happening. But I want to encourage you, don’t lose hope. Trust Jah to guide us and give us ideas to get through this. Things might be hard now, but they wouldn't stay this way forever.
Puff puff pass,! supporting each other, and believing that better days are coming. What a life!
Flesh for body, deep reasoning for spirit.
