Today I wanted to talk about how I seemingly didn't realize I enjoy editing photos!

Is it weird that we look forward to doing something as small as it can be?
I've gotten used to doing a lot of things over the years. There are a lot of things that end up being therapeutic for me, in one strange way or another. Editing and reviewing photos is one of them, I will admit! I am not entirely sure why.. but it is haha. Because that's been enjoyable and therapeutic for me.. it's been rough that I haven't been able to edit any LOL.
I certainly love taking an interesting or good photo. If I could have my DSLR with me, I for sure would but a lot of times it's just my handy-dandy phone and thankfully the newer one takes some pretty darn good photos! This really works out because I realized that I take a LOT of pictures haha. Not all of them are very good, but I do try to slow down a little bit and take a crack at developing an interesting photo!
With the chaos of work, and the various activities that we've been doing outside of the house, one of the things that I haven't been able to do much of is taking photos. I don't love it, but I am managing it well enough. I haven't been able to edit any photos in a few weeks which is strange for me! I feel like a lot of the time in a normal week I am editing at least one or two sets of photos. Lately it's been squat and strangely, I miss it!
I think one of the things that I enjoy about the photo editing process is that I am reviewing and making mental note of the thing that I was doing. Where we were, what we were doing and it helps me remember it and cherish the memories I've got with my son with these things. I know that I am spending lots of great time with him doing the things I enjoy and the things he enjoys, but when it doesn't involve things that I take photos that I want to post to the blockchain, it saddens me a little bit LOL
I think one of the big differences there is there are a lot of photos I take of him and the things we are doing that I do NOT post. I intentionally carve out specific things that I do want to post and write about. I don't believe in sharing everything, including pictures of him, all over the chain. That's just bad practice in my opinion, though I know plenty of people do it. I've decided not to and don't fault anyone for doing it. To each their own!
With the lack of photo editing time.. my photo editing skills are getting a little rusty! haha. I think I might crack the dust off them soon by instead turning some regular photos into Sepia ones, or doing some wild color edits to see what unique things I can conjure up. At the end of the day though, I am hoping to get to do something that allows me to do some editing and transforming the activity into a post!

I share my picture, but I mostly omit that of my family. I feel like it's okay to dox myself, but since they have no business being here, even it's better that way. Although I wouldn't have made this decision in the past, but it turns out life has happened and automatically made me preserved to some extent. Although there are conversations or post I want to make, but immediately I realize the post might dox them, I just try not to make them.
Yeah that's a good strategy! I think it's important to have separation between the areas of life. I cringe thinking about the things I used to post on Fakebook and other things lol these days those fuckers don't need to know squat! haha
I think back in the day we didn't really care about privacy on Facebook, however the more we're deeper into the web and understand all that decentralized jive, the less we actually want to put out there.
I have also been taking pictures for a long time. It is a fact that if the original picture is edited, it becomes a little more beautiful, but the pixels get blown out and it is not enjoyable that way. Therefore, it is better to use a good camera to take beautiful pictures.
Yeah taking pictures is good but it is certainly a lot nicer with a good camera!
