RE: Seek ye first the kingdom of the Lost Socks, and dear old dad, and ...

It’s important to have a way to clear up old issues in our lives but only if the people are worthy of it. Some people just aren’t worth the time or effort and we also have to realize that. I’ve spent a lot of time trying to fix a relationship with someone but ultimately they are the ones who are responsible for not making any attempts at correcting their issues.

It’s a great thing to make things out of old ones! I’ve been trying to get into upcycling and repurposing things which is great! Love the afghan idea!

Sort:

"Some people just aren’t worth the time or effort" - I hear that one a lot.
It goes againt all that I learned and internalized from infancy.
To love one another. Always.
To forgive, unconditionall, often, repeatedly, always.
Even if nobody ever apologizes or "owns" a mistake.
Floor mat? You could call me that. :)

Oh, the socks, the instructions, the ambition - I can buy a blanket at Goodwill for $4.
Often, you'll find hand-sewn items (sad!) - and books signed by authors - and customized gifts that somebody's old grandma or aunt hand-crafted, only to have it cast off.
Two of our wedding gifts were like that: ruffled, lacey, embroidered mementos with our wedding date on it. Somewhere in this house, these two items still exist. I displayed them for a few years, but that mauve and country blue stuff went out of style. (Now I wonder where I stored these mementos.)
