RE: WHAT IF TODAY WAS ALL YOU HAD?

in Rant, Complain, Talk2 years ago

There’s definitely a balance to be had there. We should live every day meaningfully as we can but we also shouldn’t be hedonistic about it in that we pursue the cardinal sins of lust, envy and the others, in our day to day lives thinking we should maximize the day. Rather we should live respectfully but also able to do as much in a day that we can do that we don’t regret something. Even regretting something can be only something in hindsight in many ways, because often if we regret something it was because it was a lesson. We need to learn lessons in order to have an impact on our future decisions I think.

Thank you so much for contributing to this, and truly, I get it from this point of view too. Truly, people can be very different, and the way people live their lives are very different too. But living one's life to the fullest doesn't mean one should be careless and all that, and some people can actually be, due to how they see things, and I totally get it.

I wrote this because so many people get depressed thinking about the past and the future, as much as these things can positively affect the decisions we make, it can also have a negative effect, and it can get really overwhelming and depressing. Also, people take a lot of things for granted because they feel it’s a norm to get the things that they do, which isn’t true. Every single day is an opportunity and it’s important to know that.
