Not working long hours anymore I finally have time to do some reading. I picked up 'There is no planet B' by Mike Berners-Lee. Having been written when Trump was still in power in America it missed out on a lot of recent developments. It's still a great book on a very valid topic.

We are simply using too much power and unless we change our stride the future looks very bleak.

Mike offers very good possible solutions for some scenarios. I did notice though that there is an underlying expectation that tomorrow will be much like yesterday.

One thing I learned in South Africa, things change fast.

While I do believe that our energy consumption is outpacing our resources I am much more concerned with surviving until tomorrow. Maybe getting stuck with no money and no resources woke me up. I'm guessing about the reason. I am very sure we should all get prepared.

This isn't a doomsday prophecy. It's just about keeping up with a changing life in a fast changing world that is moving in a dangerous direction.

I have a few sugestions on this.

If you are living in South Africa you will understand why my first sugestion is, learn to protect yourself. This is priority. Learn how to apply violence without using weapons.

This may sound strange coming from a guy who were talking about God and Jesus in his previous post. The truth is, when the Israélites were rebuilding the temple in the days of old, they were doing it with a sword in one hand and a trowel in the other. The children of God were never strangers to violence.

So back to the now. Learn how to fight and always be ready and able to defend yourself.

Whatever the future looks like, knowing that you can defend yourself will always serve you. There is confidence that comes with that that will always work for you.

Next on the list is learning how to use weapons. The emphasis is on the plural. A weapon, like any tool, isn't a one thing works for every job idea. Sometimes you have to be able to use what you can put your hands on. Sometimes, what you normally carry just won't do the job.

The skill set needed to defend yourself and to use weapons is by no means the only skill set you need.

In this rapidly changing world first-aid is next on the list. Knowing how to patch up damage to yourself or someone else with or without the modern tools available is the next most valuable thing to have in your toolbox.

It's amazing how many instances there are in the world around you where knowing what to do can save a life. Maybe even your own life.

You don't have to like doing it. You have to know how to do it.

These two are a must in your toolbox for surviving until tomorrow.

If you have money available, you can fix a lot of problems of everyday living. That is why knowing how money works and finding other ways of making money is the number three on my list.

It's not about the money. It's about not being stuck with one thing. If you are stuck on just a job for an income things gets bad when the job goes south.

Sometimes people identify with their careers, possibly because that keeps the food on the table. When there are more income streams and different skill sets in play, you don't completely lose yourself when you lose your job.

These are the first three things on my list of most important things to do in a changing world.

It's simple and it's worth doing.

There is a way to learn the new skills you need without breaking the bank. Take a look at Alison. Here you will find certified courses at known institutes for free or at a reasonable price.

The climate fear porn is absolutely over blown and an obnoxious cult that’s been around since the 60’s. The destruction of mountains for coal mining and other rare earth minerals is what’s the most destructive. Petroleum based products are one of the most renewable resources in the world, there’s a lot of research out there that the petroleum that is piped out is not something from fossils but it’s natural liquids that are produced in the earths crust. It’s the second most abundant liquid out there besides water and renews constantly. You should listen to Bjorn Lomberg he’s pretty good on the topic, and Randall Carlson is even better. We are not destroying the environment by burning petrol fuels, the carbon release is happily absorbed by the plants and the entire planet is 15% greener than it was in 1980 I believe it was. The climate fear porn peddlers would have people believe that it’s going to burn up and we are all going to die. That’s simply not the case and has been largely the opposite of their prognostications.

Defending ourselves is crucial though, we all need to learn and have the weapons in order to do it. A firearm is the best but others will suffice.

Climate change have been with us since before man recorded history. They are going on about stuff they really don't understand and use it to suck money from counties that can't afford it 8nstead of doing something to prepare for the worst possibilities
