I am here to rant.
First of all, i want to say that being an adult requires a lot of responsibilities. I know that we all have the right to live our lives and do whatever we want to do so far it is not against the law. I think there are some things that should be considered an offence in the court of law because that's the only way to help regulate some inhumane actions.
I am so pissed. Typing this just brought made the memory fresh again and up til now, the anger hasn't reduced.
The event
I went to church early this morning for a program that holds every week day from 6am to 6:30am. I got to church few minutes late because i woke up a bit late. I initially didn't want to attend because of that but somehow, i dragged myself and got ready. Luckily I met the praise session. I don't like missing the praise and worship session because for me, that's when the atmosphere is set before the main word of God is released. That is how i perceive it actually. So as the service was going on, we experienced power outage. We still continued the worship session while some people brought out their torchlights to lighten up the place.
Some technical members ran off to turn on the generator. While that was happening. Someone, in fact, an Adult. A full fleshed adult farted.
that's the height of irresponsibility
How can an adult fart in the presence of God. And I suspected the guy that sat in front of me because the stench was coming directly from his side. I couldn't hold it anymore. I had to speak out and cursed the person that did that out of anger. Everyone around the side I was seated was murmuring. If there was a child around the area, we would have blamed the child. There are some things that I find very disgusting and this Is one of them.
I am not against people farting. I fart too, but releasing it in a public space and in the house of God for that matter is a stupid and wicked thing to do. It shows a very high level of immaturity and irresponsibility.
Immediately, I lost concentration. I tried so hard to set my heart back again but couldn't. What i did next was to just pick my things and leave the church. I know it may sound silly for leaving church that way but what's the point staying in church with anger. I won't even listen to anything that will be said from that point. So for me, leaving was the best solution.
I thought that when you become an adult, you are wiser and smarter. I mean, as an adult, it is expected that you know what and what not to do especially when you are in public. Farting and releasing unhealthy gas directly into the air for people to inhale can be dangerous to one's health. You don't even know what someone is going through. And for someone to even be in the house of God that early should tell you that the person is there for a serious business. The best you can do is reward yourself with some show of responsibility. At least going outside to do your thing should have been the best way to save the environment and save yourself some kind of embarrassment.
Have you ever been in this situation? What did you do? If you were in my shoes, what would you have done?

I think people in general just no longer have a sense of class, common courtesy, and respect for others. My wife got crop dusted the other day at the local bowling alley. The guy didn’t even try to hide it and it was so rank and lingered so long, we had to change lanes and go to the other end to get away from it. The best you can do is find the positive in everything and grit your teeth when you have to. Otherwise, every day will end in a fight with someone. Thanks for sharing!
As someone who has had stomach issues in the past: when you gotta go, you gotta go! LOL I know it's not glamorous and when you are in church it might not be the best place for it but sometimes you think it might go one way but it goes a completely opposite way. An old saying from quite a few older people I've heard of: "Never trust a fart" LOL that's words to live by!
This just cracked me up and made light out of the issue.
Well yea I think I agree with you completely. I may not know what the fellow must have been going through before he farted.
Oh my! @cmplxty thanks for making me laugh hard this morning😂
Hahah that's good! It is vile to experience it, trust me but I've had the situation where I thought it would be a normal one but it ended up smelling like something died. No good but you don't know sometimes lol.
I'm glad! We all need a good laugh for sure! :D
