Greetings everyone! Hope you're enjoying your weekend already?
A lot happened in my day today, being Friday, and at the end of the day, I was tired—extremely tired. I bought a bottle of this bitter drink to sip while I sat outside within the compound to receive cool breeze and also enjoy the loud music coming out from the lounge close to my house. The lounge can be very loud sometimes, with people trooping in and out in their numbers. I enjoy the loud music so much, especially when the DJ on the wheels of steel knows what music is all about.
The landlord of my compound has been around for about two weeks, and this is so unusual. He hasn’t stayed this long any other time he visited. Anyway, he can stay as long as he likes, provided he doesn’t make the compound very uncomfortable for the tenants—and that’s exactly what he has been doing ever since he arrived. I have concluded that he has a mental problem because his actions and reactions are just too obvious. He has been finding faults where there are none, and he has been hitting on every single occupant in the compound, including me.
The day he got to me, I confronted him too. Although I didn’t insult him, the manner in which I talked to him appeared like an insult. And when I thought he would go and reflect on my words, he didn’t—he continued his acts of harassing tenants. That’s when I truly believed that his mental health is affected.
Today, he had it hot with two tenants, and the lady among them—whom the man is old enough to give birth to—washed him with insults, and the landlord wasn’t bothered at all. He was shouting and quarreling with a lady like a woman.
Do you know what caused the issue?
He was querying the lady for pouring water everywhere in the compound. Meanwhile, the lady was washing, and the ground is not cemented. The water was drying off as she was pouring it. The lady was surprised to get such a query from him because throwing away water on the ground is a normal and common thing. Omo! The landlord got really angry and said he would give the lady a quit notice. Meanwhile, the argument and the quarrel were so fun to watch. Some of us were watching them as they exchanged words while we were laughing out loud.
The landlord is losing his brain, and his family members have not noticed. I hope it doesn’t get worse than this.
Let me stop here and continue enjoying my drink.
Thanks for reading my Friday report of happenings in my compound.
