RE: Perspective: Is covid real or fake? The harm of false information (uncensored)

in Rant, Complain, Talk4 years ago (edited)

Totally hear you. All of it. Btw this ...seems like everyone cherry picks the info that fits the narrative they want... goes for so many other things than just covid. There even is a new scientific term for this, I cannot remember now but I read a study on this topic. Yeah, for some reason, people tend to pick a side / stance / opinion / whatever and then only accept info that support it. Totally ignoring (or often even mocking) anything else. So sad.

Hope you are guys feeling much better already and that you will never ever have to deal with this shit again...

Edit: it´s called the confirmation bias. It may actually not be that new...

Sort:

I believe you are right with the term confirmation bias, also cognitive dissonance (refusing to accept facts/evidence presented). Yeah it's pretty prevalent these days on many other topics, it's harmful to society. Like I said, I like a good conspiracy theory and the world is messed up that many of these theories are actually fact but many of them are just completely nuts.

Parts of me thinks it might be done by design in the form of "controlled opposition" to make something seem so far fetched to cover up guilty persons by making the notion seem so unrealistic. I do believe this thing is manmade in a lab and it's origins covered up so their is def some questionable things behind it, I wont deny that.

he's mostly better, I'm not, well I'm not shaking hands with the grim reaper either but I have many long term effects that impact my life a great deal and there currently is no treatment for them but the good news, so many more have the same long term symptoms and funding/ medical science is looking for some answers and how to treat, perhaps something will prevail in time. For now, I have to re-adjust my expectations of myself and learn to pace myself so I don't crash and burn so quick. Insomnia has been a big problem tho, it doesn't help the fatigue/ needing rest part. Hopefully the world rids of this virus once and for all soon before more people become permanently damaged from it both physically and psychologically.

Sorry to hear you have been still dealing with the long term effects. I actually have my own, very recent and vivid experience with insomnia (there even were periods of time where I couldn´t sleep more than 3 hours per night for many consecutive days) so I can imagine the struggle... Been "studying" this thing for quite some already and have made some useful observations, feel free to hit me up on Discord if you want to talk about it ;)

OMG, that is so exhausting. That's what I have been doing the last week or so, sleep for 2 to 3 hours a night. Hope it's not a lasting thing for you. I'm not on discord much.

Hey, it´s been a while since you posted something so I am just stopping by to ask if you are ok... I hope you are.
