I don't think I've encountered that over here outside of "would you like to join our loyalty program". Answer is no unless I actually go there frequently enough that it's worth it and they get the absolute bare minimum.

Hotels, and hire companies... they are pretty bad, but they get dump emails and phone numbers. Some of the emails are pretty hilarious, I was surprised that they hadn't been taken yet!
