This is a view of the sunset in Pearl City looking towards Waianae Mountains
Introduction
- The life of the Traveller is filled with beautiful sunsets and memorable views.
- This gorgeous Sunset reminds me to always be Present and enjoy the earth. Sunset lasts just a few minutes, so I should never miss it. But you know adults find a way to be busy doing something important. Even more important than being present to enjoy life.
Airport at 5AM
- I like to arrive early, eat breakfast, hit the men’s room for some personal maintenance and then relax in the empty waiting rooms, enjoying the calm and serenity before the crowds arrive.
My own little desert oasis
- It is funny how sitting in a clean, empty airport lounge can conjure up an image of the desolation and isolation of a dessert oasis. But after passing through various gates and security measures you feel like you made it to a special place, where you alone will dwell for a while.
- Peaceful and serene it is…
Airports are huge
- Sometimes we forget how big and spread out airports are, vast expansive hallways, moving sidewalks extending past the horizon, long runways, and huge boarding gate lounges.
- I think when they are filled with people we don’t feel like they’re very big. But when you arrive early and the waiting areas are empty, you sometimes marvel at the colossal size of it all.
- They remind me of the beach in their immense awe inspiring size. But the beach is nicer, for sure. The water, the sand, the mountains stretching down to the sea.
It makes me want to dance for joy
- Odd as this maybe, the vast openness and calm atmosphere reminds me how blessed I am to have a job which lets me travel over oceans, mountains, volcanoes, and drive across desserts and through rain forests.
- It makes me happy enough to spin around and throw my hat in the air.
- That is of course my inside voice, the image of me dancing is just a fantasy in my mind. But still it makes me smile.
Sunflower fields for ever
- This feeling of happiness and contentment makes me remember the sunflower fields. Six foot tall flowers, bigger than a man’s hand.
- My wife running through the fields in joy, just living the moment, being present, enjoying simple things like a commercial sunflower field.
- No fancy computer animation, no costumes or props, just Mother Nature, set to a backdrop of the mountains, wind and sunshine.
- Sometimes the best things in life are free.

Travellers see a lot and enjoy a lot. 🥰
Yes indeed, it is a blessing to be paid to travel.
And even if I only travel in my own state, there really is so much to see and ultimately enjoy.
Paid to travel? That is really fun
Yes, even though I am travelling for work, I separate the travel portion from the work portion in my mind. And I enjoy the travel as a separate treat from the work!
LOL !

Thank you.
Your welcome.
The sunset is really pretty.
The airport is ridiculously empty.
But those sunflowers are super cool. The Naruto run by your wife is super cool too.
I am glad you liked the sunset.
The airport was amazingly quiet and serene for about 20 minutes.
The sunflowers were epically beautiful and the setting in the valley was crazy beautiful and peaceful.
