Lost in Space

Exactly seven days since my last post. Ha, amazing. I used to be way more active around here. It hasn't been due to lack of ideas, or content; trust me, I've got those. I have recently plung]ed into a complete lethargy and disinterest in content creation. I do not have the slightest desire to write, shoot, or even record a podcast. It's crazy. I could account for this to a couple of things. Anyhoo, My new job transition has been pretty peculiar. My organization is a small one. Just under a century of people, and less than half of that at my location. This ultimately translates to me being easily spotlighted. I loathe being the center of attraction in anything. I want to be the behind-the-scenes guy. I like it that way.

I learned a valuable lesson this week. "Listen to the universe." I would probably make that my next newsletter title. You could call it following your heart, intuition, or whatever. That gut feeling that tells you to do something, the one you rebuff as stupid? Yeah, that one; take it seriously. In the first instance, it was during a team seminar. The facilitator had asked a question and wanted everyone to share an answer. People were sharing theirs and then an answer popped into my head, but I ignored it as silly. Lo and behold, that was the exact answer the facilitator wanted. I felt like such an idiot. The second time was during the team's cultural day ceremony. I was tasked with leading the team as it was my native tribe. I am not very conversant with speaking my native tongue (yeah, I am not proud of it either) but I told myself I'd do it anyway regardless. I resolved to practice and face it head-on. I also planned on apologizing to the judges for my not-so-polished mother tongue, and telling them that I was learning it still from my parents. About half an hour before the main event, something popped into my head. It was a sort of message for me to reach my dad and ask him to teach me a particular prayer he does whenever he breaks kola nut. It's a traditional thing. I ignored it, telling myself it was going to be a long prayer and there was no point learning it. Lo and behold we came second for that exact reason. For not breaking the kola nut and saying the prayers.

LESSON LEARNT UNIVERSE

So dear reader, always listen for cues. Follow your intuition, that gut feeling. You never know.

Forgive my random rambling. Hopefully, you've learned something.

I can relate to this. But each time I try to listen to that voice, I still thinks it is stupid, then later regret. Haha

I believe we should try to give that voice a Chance.

Yeah, we absolutely should. We almost always regret not doing it, lol

Thanks a bunch Liz for stopping by

Our intuition is sometimes right but sometimes it doesn't make sense😅 And you begin to wonder if you should listen to it or not. But it is always good to listen to our inner voice. At least, it keeps us out of trouble most at times

True that, haha.
One might spend the whole time trying to understand the thought, lol
Appreciate your support always Blessing 💙

I feel you there, it is frustrating when we don't listen to our inner voice. I also like to be a behind the scenes guy at work, but it sounds like you leading things from the front there. Good luck in the job transition.

Very frustrating sir

Thank you so much for your great comment. The transition hasn't been easy, but my great co-workers have helped Greatly.

Ahhhh, I know that pain. When you ignore that thought niggling in your head and it turns out to be the correct answer. It happens to the best of us so don't beat yourself up about it and just be guttier next time.

P.S: I absolutely love the picture of that sunset.🪷

Yes ma'am
