The first thing needed to get started with the MuTerra Games, whether it be World, Arena or Mole Miner, is a Tamer. Which brings us to this post where we will get to understand all features and stats revolving around TAMERS OF MUTERRA.
DEFAULT STATS
Tamers of MuTerra come in 5 rarities :
- Common
- Uncommon
- Rare
- Epic
- Legendary
Each rarity has been assigned default stats as follows :
Stamina: One of the most important stat of a tamer. Every major action you take in MuTerra consumes a fixed amount of stamina. And when its 0, your tamer cannot perform any action.
Carrying Capacity : It represents the number of items (bags, pouches, sacks, resources, etc) you can carry. It's very useful when you go collect resources and mutee drops from the wild.
Remaining Stats : They will come into play when the mutees in your party are all dead and you are forced to fight wild mutees. (Do NOT fight high level mutee without your mutee party because you are sure to die).
ABILITIES
Tamers have some abilities that can affect their own default stats or the default stats of the mutees they own. In addition to this, there are some abilities that can improve the chances to get more mutee drops or to encounter more golden mutees.
- By default, Golden Mutee Encounter Rate and Mutee Item Drop Rate is 5%.
Mutees also have stats similar to tamers. Importance of those stats and what impact they'd have in ARENA and WORLD will be discussed in a different post. Conclusion being that better mutee stats will help you out in winning battles.
NOTE : Some of the abilities of existing tamers have been changed.
TAMER STATS
When the abilities mentioned above are applied to the respective tamers, the default stats change accordingly :
The values in bold are effects of abilities on default tamer stats. These can further be improved by merging tamers to get gold foiled tamer version. Merging has been explained below.
TAMER MERGING
We will be introducing a totally new feature for tamers in Beta, which is - Tamer Merging!
Tamer merging, as the name suggests, means that you will be able to combine a specified number of copies of a tamer to get a better version of it, aka, gold foil version.
Depending upon the rarity, the required number of regular cards for gold foil will vary
- Common : 10
- Uncommon : 8
- Rare : 5
- Epic : 2
You can customise your Gold Foil Tamer : When you select the required number of regular foil copies of a tamer and merge them, you'll be offered ability choices! Choose one and the gold foil copy will have that ability.
Gold Foil Tamers give 20 times more airdrop than their regular foil counterpart.
Only activated tamers that have been sent inside the game can be merged.
If the tamers being combined are not at level 1, then the tamer with the highest level will become gold.
Now lets look into the golden abilities you can choose from.
GOLDEN ABILITIES
Once you merge the required copies of a tamer, you'll get to choose a golden ability for your Gold Foil Tamer from the following options :
Notice that till Rare rarity you get 4 abilities to choose from while Epic rarities get only 2 choices but two abilities in each choice.
Also, you cannot merge a Legendary Tamer, but you can definitely make it a gold foil one by spending 500$. You don't get choose it's ability, instead you are granted 2 golden abilities.
TAMER LEVELLING
In Beta release, players will be able to level up their tamers (and mutees) using MUT.
The question now arises why one should even level up a tamer? Here are some points you should consider :
Mutee level gets capped to your tamer level. So if you level up your mutee to 50 but your tamer is only at level 1, then during battles, your mutee will be considered as level 1 only.
More stamina with each level up. This means you'll be able to play more and perform more actions in the game.
More carrying capacity which will make it easier to farm for resources in the game.
MUT required to Level up from Level A to B :
Total MUT required to go from level 1 to level 100 =
833250
Tamers cannot be burnt to get back the MUT used to level them up
TAMER NICKNAME
Make your Tamers stand out by giving them nicknames! And you only need to spend 20 MUT to do so. The default name of your tamer will be replaced by the nickname everywhere in MuTerra Ecosystem.
All you have to do is go to your INVENTORY, select tamer and change it's nickname!
HOW TO START PLAYING WITH A TAMER
To start playing, all you need to do is head over to GAME SITE and you are done. Its that simple!
But to start earning from the game, you'll have to follow 3 steps :
- Buy a Tamer/Tamer License
- Activate a Tamer
- Deposit the Tamer to in-game
BUY A TAMER/TAMER LICENSE
You can buy a tamer of rarity above common by referring to the first 3 points OR you can simply buy a tamer license and use it on a common tamer which is given to you by default.
WAX CHAIN : If you buy on wax chain, you'll have to send the tamer to HIVE chain. Follow the instructions in this POST.
SECONDARY MARKET : You can buy sold out tamers from other players here :
TAMER SALES : You can also buy tamers that are up for sale here :
But wait! These tamers once bought still cannot be used to play! You will need to buy a tamer license and activate them. So go ahead and buy a TAMER LICENSE here :
Tamer Licenses are currently being sold at a discounted price of 10$ from it's original price of 20$. Get it before its too late!
You can also wait for tamer packs coming soon. They contain activated tamers of higher rarities.
ACTIVATE A TAMER
Once you have bought a tamer license, it's time to activate a tamer. You can do so by opening your tamer in your INVENTORY :
If you use your tamer license on the default tamer, the card will be minted and issued to you.
Tamers that have been given a tamer license, aka, Activated Tamers go into the activated section of your inventory. Its time to send them in-game so that you can start playing and earning from them.
DEPOSIT THE TAMER TO IN-GAME
Open your INVENTORY again and scroll down to active tamers. You'll find the tamer you just activated in the step above. Click on it.
Now all you need to do is select that tamer and click DEPOSIT.
This tamer can now be found in the in-game assets. Just scroll down a bit.

So much new info on the abilities of the Tamers, makes me hungry to get started playing Beta! 502920 Mut to max a Tamer? At current prices, that's almost $5000 for a max level Tamer! I'm way behind on my MUT staking!!!!

why the bottleneck on carrying capacity? it's a major pain having to go immediately back to turn in 2 times after fighting 1 or 2 monsters. no part of that is fun. 2 items of carrying capacity is something no other game does. can't you find other ways to limit things while still keeping it fun to play?
We will reduce the stamina cost from travelling from one map to another. Also, please wait for the post regarding the crafted items. You'll understand that the carrying capacity is not actually 2. Hint : You can carry a large bag and inside that large bag you can carry quite a few items.
That should be available already though. It will keep new players away. It's also what stopped me from continuing playing the alpha.
Stamina cost can be reduced at any time but crafting items like bag, pouch, sack, etc needed time to code and was not an independent task. A lot of dependencies like recipe, drop rates, storage, resource encounter rate, luck factor, etc were involved. We will be sharing the details of each and everything as we continue to post about Beta Release.
Beta is not going to be like alpha where there was not much to do anyways. Hope you'll come back and enjoy the feature loaded game when beta launches. Till then you can enjoy MOLE MINER if you like such games.
