I was tasked to attend a training in Tacloban City, the capital city of my province, Leyte. Attending trainings sometimes makes a little anxious. It requires me to go out of my comfort zone. The responsibilities I have to leave behind for a while, new environment and new people to deal with, make me feel anxious even just for a short time. But thankfully, things are good. I realized this is a good way to break from routine. And the learnings coming from the training are indispensable. The much needed break for me, I guess is this.
Another good thing about it is our accomodation and the training venue. It is comfortable since it's held in a hotel in Abucay, Tacloban City. We are also accomodated at the same hotel. Everything we need for our comfort are provided. The location of the hotel is perfect too. It is adjacent to a terminal and a mall. It's like everything we need is here. Comfortable accomodation, easy access to transportation and a place to hangout after the day's session.
After two days of just staying inside the hotel, that is venue to hotel room and vice versa, I finally went out to walk to the mall. I didn't have the intention to spend much though. I just need to buy bottled water and some food items.
A few steps away, we are at the Robinson's Mall. Now this is what we mean when we say mall. It is huge, supercold with their airconditioning system and aesthetic with many store outlets and restaurants. Why am I explaining? Well, I remembered ruffatotmeee's post of what we considered mall. And for us this one is the real mall. I guess only those living in rural towns can relate.😄 There is even a joke going around that we don't call this mall Robinson's but MOA. Not Mall of Asia though but Mall of Abucay. 😅
We went on store hopping and stepped inside the Department Store first. As we looked around, nothing fits the budget. We just went window shopping because the items sold there are too expensive.
Christmas season is already felt. Christmas decors are on display for sale here. I love the christmas vibe. Aren't these beautiful? I wish I could decorate my home with this.
We left the Department store and walked around the mall. Then we walked by Watson's. One of the popular store that sells self-care products. With a variety of products and brands to choose from at affordable prices, one would be tempted to have their hands on their products.
We entered Watson's and I found something that I remembered I needed to buy or am I just making excuses 'coz I was tempted, lol! So I bought the things I remembered I needed. Well, coming inside to this kind of stores would really test your self control. I must say, one should stick to her budget or she'd end up buying even those that is not really necessary. But how do you do away from impulsive buying s̶o̶m̶e̶t̶i̶m̶e̶s̶?😅
Another store that caught our attention was the Super50 store. The name of the store made me think that this store sells all their items at 50.
As we checked the products, I realized I was wrong. The products are sold starting at the price of 50 and that's the reason the store is named Super50. 💡
We went on with our store hopping in the mall going up to the second floor then going down. I noticed that the ceiling and railings are beautifully decorated with a blast of pastel colors and christmas spirit. I really love the ambiance as it relaxes my eyes and my mind too.
The last stop was the supermarket. I needed to buy bottled water and some food items for my evening snacks in case I get hungry. During the training we had our early dinner so there's a chance that I'd get hungry in the middle of the night.
It could have been more fun when we have lots of money so we can go shopping spree. Hahah! Well, maybe next time when the price of hive pumps up again. 😅 But then, it was still a fun activity as seeing those I couldn't have yet inspires me to double my efforts to save for something I'd love to have soon.
This week is but a week full of learning and fun. As they say, learning is fun. As for me, I learned a lot from the training and had fun strolling and store hopping at the mall. These are simple joys you can find even in unfamiliar places.
If you made it this far, thank you and I hope you enjoy your weekend.
Hehehe
Great that in addition to learning you were able to have some time to look around. I can't remember the last time I did some serious shopping to be honest, hehe. I guess I'm more thrifty lately. But that mall looks really huge and nice even if it's just for window shopping.
Me too. It's been a while when I had a serious shopping in this kind of establishment. Maybe because I am more mindful of my spending especially that I need to follow my budget. Yes, the mall is huge and the ambiance is relaxing too. I love strolling around malls because its cool. Thank for dropping by. Have a great weekend.
