Awesome shots! I know I have mentioned this before, but I remember visiting the city as a kid. We camped at a campground outside the city and took the subway in. I remember taking a tour of the treasury building and the air and space museum. I also remember a ton of walking. I still have all my old Instamatic pictures from our trip somewhere. I remember us laughing because there was a bird sitting right on top of Lincoln's head in the monument.

Your parents did it the right way. I just take the Metro home. :)) Walking is a part of life there. I rarely take the Metro for downtown, not if I can walk it or even bike it. Biking is very popular here. The Treasury Building is pretty cool ! Within the District, Smithsonian Institute has 17 museums, galleries, and a zoo. Believe it or not, they are all free! They are all different, from the origins of man, the wonders of art, the history and future of flight and animals! So much to see, for free!
I have gone to the US Mint, but, they no longer allow anyone there. But, next time, see if you can make a try for the Supreme Court, where you can watch it happening in real-time, Congress when they are in session. Very cool and the Capital. I could go on and on, but, the monuments are my favorite too. In warmer weather, I have coffee with Lincoln or Jefferson. :))
Thanks for stopping by and leaving your words! Have a great day!
#MarketFriday loves you!
Maybe it was the mint we went to. I remember watching them print money. That would make more sense. We only did the air and space museum because we didn't have time for the other ones and all the monuments.
It definitely was the Mint. Thank goodness you have seen it as it is no longer open to the public. I hope you get to come back some day, I think you would have a great time.
