It’s said that every household in the Netherlands has at least 3 products sold and made by Swedish giant IKEA. So guilty as charged.
We also have many products from the yellow and blue warehouse.
Not like the dorm room from the oldest, because there all is from Sweden but we have a lot of great products all with cool names in our home. Malmö,Kallas,Lack and Thorop are soulmates and lifestylechangers. So yes, I confess that I am a fan.
It’s a fall holiday here and the kids and myself we had a day there because I am winter proofing the livingroom. That resulted in needing rugs and knowing the strenght of the yellow and blue I know I will find some other gems.
In the Netherlands there are 16 stores and Groningen is the biggest. We are in between Barendrecht and Delft. We decided on Barendrecht because of the busy traffic to the Delft side. Ikea has everything for your house. Items that are sold there are are among other things, for the kitchen, living room, office ( Covid home offices too ) the bedroom, bathroom but also all kinds of textiles like rugs and flooring. Candles, pots and pans and they have Swedish meatballs in the restaurant so that will always be a stop in between shopping aswell. As said we needed rugs, I wanted grey and searched online before we went and because the old one we had but needed to be replaced with fresh not a new type, the rug suits the room very well.
I also needed a little lamp for the sewing machine and the lamp department is very extensive so why not pick that up aswell.
Cushion wraps for the couch, because I shrank one after washing.
Maybe i should get a big cart?
A big cotton basketball, no guys we have so many toys and this will be caught by Joey for sure and ruined.
Hahahah and yes I take pictures all the time, and this is #feateredfriends wall paper! How cool. And is great for a bathroom vanity upgrade. Well not for me, the livingroom was the project remember?
I think the interior designers that work for the blue and yellow giant are masters in their profession, I like so many showroom rooms they build in the shop. Its so amazing and i am not the only one I know that just by looking at the other people shopping there.
And the fact that you have to cross the showroom to get to the rug seperate not made me wonder what will be the next project after the winter wonder change of the livingroom. But we are here: RUG DEPARTMENT
Its this one, not to high of a pole, and really tight, and easy to clean. And not to expensive, that is also great because with the dogs the rugs dont stay a lifetime. This is the choice I have light grey and dark mouse grey. After deliberating with my mom who is with us and one of the boys, the right one will be it.
So we could go to the cahiers, and the exit ! But along the way to the exit I saw so many nice things.
And some things that i wont have I’m our home ever! But its really pink like the ladiesofhive.
Floors….
And lovely orchids, and ofcourse I bought a few. As an orchid lover walking by these proud flowers is not possible :
SO COME TO MOMMY DEAR SWEET PINKIES.
Take the last thing from the store room near the register,so why not join this #marketfriday movement and blog about what you did and what you bought go for it ! This is so much fun, I assure you.
Text taken from the #marketfriday founder @dswigle:
#MarketFriday has evolved over time from straight shopping to a cultural affair as it highlights how we differ and then again, how much we are alike. We have become a melting pot of culture, but, it is still the Rituals, Festivals, food, architecture, even your language/languages that separate us... Along with the fact of what is normal for where you live? These are unwritten rules that rule our social behaviors. I see this as allowing for increased tolerance between cultures and nations, and opportunities to come together on an even playing ground. A strong culture can be beneficial to a country as it promotes unity, especially during a crisis, peaceful debate, and open dialogue. I can only hope this to be true.
Fridays are all about the #MarketFriday Challenge! Looking to take part in it? Here is how:

Following me and reblogging the post so more see it would be appreciated !! Not a rule, just appreciated, more vision for more views on your posts! You must put #MarketFriday by @dswigle somewhere on your post. If you don't and someone reads it, there is nothing to tie #MarketFriday to that post.
Please only one post each week. Believe it not, I run out of voting power if you put in many more than that.

I am sitting in the livingroom with the new things and the new rugs, feeling very happy.

Going to IKEA is always fun. Well almost, you should make sure to have enough time because it always takes longer than anticipated. Further more you should bring more money then you thought you would spend because it’s so easy to walk out of the store with a receipt that is much longer than the shopping list.
I actually live right next to the town where IKEA was founded. Ingvar Kamprad, the founder actually was born not so far from where I live in a place called Elmtaryd, Agunnaryd.
IKEA actually stands for Ingvar Kamprad, Elmtaryd, Agunnaryd.
That is so cool!! Thanks for the history of it, Dan! @dandesign86
My pleasure :)
oowwww waaaauw! i hope it wasnt too crowded especially since it was a holiday by you guys. I really hate going physically to the ikea although I am surely guilty of having more than 3 products from them in my house hahah.
In Switzerland I had literally ordered my whole apartment there at once since i needed to fill a whole apartment starting from scratch. I ordered everything online and the guys carried it all up to the 3rd floor. Best customer service ever there in switzerland at least.
the only down side? It all isnt built for moving, and I tend to move around a lot. Enjoy the rugs in this stormy day!
I was exploring their website this morning, looking at and choosing bedspreads:) a great store, the only bad thing is that it is unrealistic to leave without more purchases, on the way you are sure to see something useful or cute:)
That’s so true it’s impossible to go without seeing some must haves that you don’t need hahahah
But the concept is so exceptional
